i think you should do some check about file permissions in your media library

ciao, in genere quel file html va messo nella directory base del sito (non nella media library). dovresti quindi caricare il file tramite ftp/sftp (in base all’hosting che usi)

This is the first time this issue is reported, i haven’t yet done an in depth analysis on this topic. Do you have any specific file type behaving in this way ?

as far as i know it’s not a problem deselecting .bz2|.tgz|.txz|.xz ??

1) those types are enabled to make sure compressed archives that are standard ones on *nix platforms are accepted
2) i released a new version compatible with WP 5.8.2, waiting for WP team’s approval

keep in mind the plugin was never meant to be a “gravity form addon”, so its compatibility is not granted for sure (unfortunately i have no spare time to adapt the code to any release/update/chnage in GravityForm or other similar WordPress plugin)

hi, if you want to try to use the plugin as a “blocking system” you should check all the optional checkboxes in the settings page (the ones “before” file types list) and then select only file types you want to be allowed as uploads.

If you’d like to share the documentation you’ve already done give me a link to download it and i may use it as a starting point and add more details (where/when needed)

hi Frodo, the plugin in quite simple to use:
– install it using WordPress plugins’ administration page
– go to “settings – extra file types”
– use the checkboxes to select which file extensions you want to enable
– use the checkboxes to enable workarounds you might need

the plugin does not take in consideration user role or permission, it just intercepts the “check file” functionality and verify the file in upload against the custom list of file types you selected.

could you give some extra info / screenshot about the problem you are having ?

i got an answer by WPForms team:

WPForms do not have any extra restriction for the file types. It follows the WordPress file type restriction and html is allowed without any issue. In that user’s case, The MIME type might be incorrect or might be blocked by their host or firewall.
