I just tried on my wordpress instance to configure:
– checked “Check only file extensions”
– checked “Skip WordPress checks”
– added new file info:
—- Description (*) = DSV-Standard-6
—- File Extension (*) = .dsv6
—- Mime Type (*) = application/octet-streamafter that i uploaded a test file (a dummy one) without any problem.
Could you try again using the same setup i used ?In Settings – Extra File Types:
– have you checked “Check only file extensions” ?
– have you checked “Skip WordPress checks” ?
– have you checked “Microsoft Excel – Macro-Enabled Workbook” ?have you any .xlsm file you can share with me to let me do some extra test on it ?

In reply to: [WP Extra File Types] Can’t find .exe in list of filetypes.exe file is now present with the correct mime type.
To see it you have to check the option “Skip WordPress checks”, otherwise it will be blocked by standard WordPress security procedures.

In reply to: [WP Extra File Types] Can’t find .exe in list of filetypesthe problem with .exe files is that more than one “mime-type” could be used, it depends on the executeble itself ( see this link: https://filext.com/file-extension/EXE ) … so you have to add it based on your needings.
If you want you can use generic type: “application/octet-stream”

In reply to: [WP Extra File Types] Can’t find .exe in list of filetypesyou can add that kind of file, see the fields in the lower part of the settings page.

In reply to: [WP Extra File Types] Can’t get .gpx to workthe plugin is used only during upload, download actions are not handled by it.
you should check your webserver configuration (mime types list) to see if .gpx files are correctly “understood” by the service.

In reply to: [WP Extra File Types] Can’t get .gpx to workAre you using “drag&drop” or are you using the “old style” choose file interface?
Another user in the past had some general problem with Safari and files upload, could you try using a different browser?Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [WP Extra File Types] Can’t get .gpx to workI configured my local WordPress instance to accept gpx files and the upload process was ok.
You can find screenshots of the procedure, and a sample .gpx file, at following url:
