In reply to: [Theme Test Drive] [Plugin: Theme Test Drive] A piece of crapHello,
Whether or not the instructions state this, it is the correct way to do it, at least that I am aware of. Do you use an ftp program? Because that’s what you’ll have to use.
Unzip your desired theme to your hard drive, and upload it, via ftp, to wp-content>themes folder. Yes, the theme you want to use will have its own folder, but it will also be under the “themes” folder.
Once you do that, just follow the process described in my earlier post.
David.
Hello,
Which theme are you using? Esmi is correct, you may have to use CSS, which can be quite tricky if you aren’t familiar with it, although some themes (such as weaver) allow you to hide the title from the website, but keeps in the search engines etc.

In reply to: [Theme Test Drive] [Plugin: Theme Test Drive] A piece of crapHello greenenergycafe,
I’ve used the theme test drive quite frequently, and found its the best way to modify another, or current theme without changing the site’s appearance. I’m not 100% sure what you’re trouble is, but it sounds like you don’t know where to place the theme?
You place the theme just like you would if you didn’t have the test drive (in your themes folder)
Log into your admin panel, and click theme test drive. You should see a box with a drop down. Select the theme you wish to edit, and click “enable theme test drive”.
Wallah, you should be good to go, or is this not your (only) problem?
Take care,

In reply to: Switching DomainsNo, see what I did was park the new domain ontop of the byethost.com url, so in effect, both urls work, instead of the byethost.com url redirecting to the new domain. I did try to edit the “site url” within my admin panel, but that messed up users who tried to log in.
Many thanks and happy 4th!

In reply to: Switching DomainsThanks for your reply, markgia. Couple questions though: Are you saying the create a new index php, or edit the current one?
Also, will this still allow users to login and comment like before? Thanks.

Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Upgraded – Images are not resizingWell, I deactivated all the plugins, I upgraded all of them, and deleted most of the ones I wasn’t using, but nothing seemed to work. I am actually using the Twenty Ten Theme at the moment. Like I said, it worked before the update, so I don’t think it would have anything to do with the memory. It looks fine in the visual editor.
Thanks,

In reply to: Upgraded – Images are not resizingThanks amackley,
I know it isn’t my machine, or the browser causing this problem. You can take a look at this to see what I mean: https://www.filmclassics.byethost18.com/?page_id=77
Before I upgraded, all the images were in neat columns and rows, and after the upgrade, it seems to be completely messed up. I have a hunch that somehow the upgrade made some command that is overriding the html commands. I’m not a whiz at coding, so I wouldn’t know, but it seems to me that would be a logical conclusion.
When I upgraded, I didn’t upgrade my theme, just thought I’d mention that in case that might have something to do with it.
If you’d like, I can send you the login information.
Thanks again,

In reply to: Index Page is Password Protected? Thanks Samuel,
I contacted my host, and apparently I was hacked. My host changed the name of the index.php file to iindex.php, which removed the password page, but the site was without an index file. So, I downloaded the newest version of wordpress and installed the new index.php, but the problem persists. At this point, what’s the best plan of action? Should I upgrade to the newest version (its currently 2.8 or so I believe) which would replace all the files, including possibly corrupted ones if they exist, or is there perhaps a better way that you could recommend? Thanks, for the help, greatly appreciated!
