Hi Richard
Thanks for your reply (very prompt!).
This is the URL … it’s a site in development: https://wrs01.com/sm1/
I had a look at Troubleshooting, and all the threads in the Support forum, but didn’t see anything mentioned.
Let me know if there’s anything I should do/try.
Regards, David

In reply to: Built in backupI’m with Fixxgigg … if plugin developers can make backup solutions, so could the WP developers … surely they’re at least as good at programming?
A built-in backup & restore is needed in the WP core because there’s no way to roll back any update (however minor) … and now more than ever because of the recently introduced automatic upgrades.
I’d be entirely happy to have automatic upgrades if WordPress automatically created a backup first … so that if there’s a problem, I can go back to where it was working.Forum: Requests and Feedback
In reply to: add easy turn off for auto backup suggestionIf I update a plugin and it breaks something, I can uninstall it and go back to an older version. I can also have the site backed up.
With these auto-updates for the WP core, there is no roll-back (in my days in corporate IT there had to be a way to roll-back changes), and no opportunity to back the site up.
Bad move by WordPress developers however well-intentioned it might have been.Forum: Requests and Feedback
In reply to: Updating (Feedback)There ought to be a setting, rather than a file edit, to control the auto-update action.
This is very poor service from WordPress.
It’s not unknown for even minor updates to cause problems … and sometime there are a series of minor updates in relatively quick succession. I want to be able to backup first before applying anything which can’t be rolled back, and I want to wait until a product is stable before updating.
Please change this by adding a setting – WordPress developers.Forum: Requests and Feedback
In reply to: Get Rid of Auto-UpdateI’ve followed the conversations elsewhere on this topic, and I’m with Central Geek – not only do I want to be able to back a site up before ANY upgrade or change (if I judge this to be the right course of action), but from my days in corporate IT (ultimately as an IT Director), people would get fired if an upgrade of any sort was attempted on a live system without at least one (tested) backup.
I’ve used Conditional Widgets with lots of other plugins, and this is the first time it hadn’t worked. I’ve tried Widget Logic Visual, but didn’t like it – Conditional Widgets is much easier to set and control.
I’ll have a look at Widget Logic – thanks for the tip, kisshomaru.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Fancy Gallery] Plugin conflictUpdate:
The Headway Subtext Block was affecting other lightboxes (but not all).
However, there is a new version … 1.0.3 … and now this gallery plugin is working.
Good result.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Shop base page layoutI’m having the same issue, using Headway Theme. I’ve found nothing on the forums which helps. If I can’t get this to work, I’ll have to ditch Woo.

In reply to: [Form Lightbox] Form working with WP.3.4.2 not working with WP 3.5.1Hi
No, didn’t get it working … button links to a page now. Not ideal, but the site did need to launch … it’s at https://www.word-right.co.ukHi
Just encountered this for the first time, and changing the number on line 72 fixed it.
Thanks to all.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Google Analytics Dashboard] Profile names all identicalYes … I just came across this issue … one month on and no fix yet?
Sorry – we’ve had an extended East holiday here in the UK.
There were no warning messages … everything seemed to be fine.
Does that help?
Hi – yes, thank you. David
Hi Richard
Same issue as above – get error trying to activate on install. The ‘activate’ works OK when click on the plugin list.
Using WP 3.3.2

In reply to: [Cookillian] Message appears under top navigationHi.
Now I’ve looked at the CSS (using Chrome), I can see the cookillian div has a z-index of 9999. But it’s not even overlaying the site … the site (except for the nav bar) is being pushed downwards.

Using WP 3.5.1 and Headway 3.4.4
Now quite mystified.
