  • My only explanation is, that is has to be changed elsewhere too, but i have no clue where to look.
its not in categories or taxonomy…

    Hi folks,
i was just wondering how one goes about to change the custom types in a way that does not break the menu.
Suppose i wanted to change “clients” to “customers”.
-in the Types section i change singular, plural and slug for the “client” accordingly (customers, customer, customers)
-in design/menu i change both the url and the display name for the menu item from “clients” to “customers”

The way it breaks is, that it shows the content, but with Archive:Customers on top and in differend layout.

does any one knos how to fix this?

    Thanks,
    David

    Hello!

(flying with WP 3.9.1 Multisite and mqtranslate 2.6.2.6)

in order to translate media captions i tried both the
    quickcodes ([:en] [:de]) and the
    full language code (<!–:en–> <!–:–> )
in the media caption field without success.

    Then i implemented
    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/translate-captions-of-the-images?replies=6#post-5100278
and that did the trick. For now. But as it is in the media.php it might be lost through core updates later on.

Now i wonder if there are any plans from the mqTranslate authors to implement translatable media captions?

As i am not a good coder (yet…) i cant overlook what i am asking, but searching the net i was astonished as to how little seems to be known on how to really solve this in a durable, smart way.

There seem to be ways like
    https://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/51946/qtranslate-get-content-by-language
that i do not know how to implement due to lack of coding skills…

or even another way (to patch or fork qtranslate)
    https://github.com/rafaelcalleja/qTranslateMultimediaLanguage

But for me the main question here is:
Am i just overlooking the simplicity of the solutions suggested or is there simply not much need for translated media captions?
I think its the first (in this case i am open for other suggestions) but please, folks… help me understand where i am at. I like mqtranslate and think this schould simply become a new feature.

Thanks a lot for the plugin and the help!

    Hi everybody,

i used kambiz_marta’s suggestion and it seems to work for the moment on
    WP 3.9.1 Multisite with mqtranslate.

I would still like to solve it without having to edit core files or to use yet another fork of qtranslate (i am happy with mqtranslate and their commitment to take over after qtranslate…).

Question: Is there any other way this can be achieved with qtranslate/mqtranslate?

    Thanks in advance!
