In reply to: [Suki] settings customizerThe generated settings CSS is processed on every request. If you moved the generated inline CSS into the Child Theme’s style.css, it will be faster on the backend side, although it’s not really noticeable, just a few milliseconds.
On the other hand, this means your page will have an additional request on the frontend which the Child Theme’s style CSS.
I would check the h3 and unit issue.

In reply to: [Suki] settings customizerNo, you can keep the internal CSS as it is.
I meant the custom CSS in the Child Theme. You can use
!important
on each your custom CSS to make it in higher priority than the generated internal CSS.Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [Suki] settings customizerSure, we would implement this in the future.
Regarding the Child Theme: you’re right. Looks like you have to use
!important
on your CSS. We would improve this in the future.Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [Suki] settings customizerHi @andi0tx
Suki uses internal CSS (via
<style>
tag in the<head>
) to apply the modified settings CSS. And yes, it could be quite long if you did a lot of modification on the Customizer. We have an idea to make all settings CSS saved in a static CSS file for faster rendering. But this feature is not yet in our near release roadmap, and we might include this functionality as a premium module along with other optimization features. Currently, we don’t have further details on this.
About the Child Theme CSS, you should use our starter child theme. It already includes the right “hook” to enqueue the child theme CSS after the parent theme CSS and settings CSS.
You can download our starter child theme on GitHub: https://github.com/sukiwp/suki-child

DavidOh, perfect! Thanks!

In reply to: My theme reviews got removed and account can’t post hereHi Mike,
Your BUSINESS account shouldn’t act as a USER.
Read that again. Your BUSINESS account, the one you use to own your plugins and themes, should not be used to leave reviews, or even really support users in a perfect world. People like talking to people, not generic company accounts.
Leave reviews as your PERSONAL account.
Noted. Won’t happen again. I don’t know about this rule previously. You can remove all the reviews by sukiwp to other plugins.
That wasn’t beyond your control. It was actually your own actions, under your control, that created the situation. Which is very important you recognize and understand.
You see, the reason this was a problem is because as you said “Someone came to my house, at my request, and left a review on my themes.”
Now. While you had good intentions there, it LOOKS very suspect. I mean, asking your friends to come to your house and leave reviews on your theme is really a weird ask. That’s taking advantage of your friendship at the very least. At the worst, you’re making a questionably ethical choice to boost your own plugin via methods not available to everyone else.
We’d feel the same way if you went to, say, a WordPress meetup and asked everyone there to leave a review. Or if you asked everyone at your company to leave a review. It’s the same basic problem.
So my friend wanted to build a landing page for his project. He knows I am a WordPress guy. He talked to me and I said “come over here”. And then I told him about my theme and some page builders. “As a gratitude, what can I do?”. So I asked him to leave a review. So it’s totally a mistake to ask him a review. It won’t happen again.
And yes, previously I thought asking for review is something common. I said, “if you love my theme, you can support us by giving good review”. This similar “asking” is very common in themes and plugins. Some themes or plugins will show some kind of notices in users Dashboard to ask for review. So I genuinely thought that it is common and allowed in the community.
But at least, I know if it’s not ethical to ask review on public forum, like WordPress meetup or something similar to it ??

I only have 2 accounts, daviedr and sukiwp. So I didn’t create many fake accounts to leave reviews.
What I was asking here is not only about the review from imeildolan, but from other users too.
For example, the review from alfredg is totally an honest review. He also reported some bugs to my theme’s support forum. So I know that guy is a real user. And then the review from yvesdouillot, he is a loyal user, he even has purchased the pro version. I was very happy to have them as my user, so it’s a bit sad knowing that their reviews are removed.

You know, this issue led me to connect with you guys and I learned something here. I am new here (www.ads-software.com), the place where I’ve been (Th*m*F*r*st) is not this strict. I need to be more careful next time ??

In reply to: My theme reviews got removed and account can’t post here> You should not use the sukiwp account outside of your theme and plugin support forum. People respond to real people, not company accounts and outside of that you should use your old account.
This is new to me. I don’t know if a business account shouldn’t give any review or respond to other themes or plugins. Because as far as I knew, any plugin or theme author can join into discussion on other themes or plugins. That’s why I used sukiwp to give reviews and respond to other support topic.
If that’s considered as a violation, I won’t do it again. You can remove those reviews from sukiwp as well.
> One review from a real user, cool. When the user immediately creates a second account and leaves another review then yes, that has consequences. Both reviews get removed, both accounts get banned. Sock puppeting is taken very seriously.
This is totally beyond my control. If that’s the case, you can take the reviews down. No problem.
> No, I’m afraid there’s no point to that. Again, the reviews are still there but not visible to other users. That particular user is flagged as it’s happened before. That one is not on you BTW but the review isn’t coming back.
Okay, I was just asking why it got removed. No problem.

I posted to my community group: if they love my theme, they could support us by giving feedback (review). The new reviews might have come from them.
As a new theme, every review does matter, whether it’s good or bad, and I’m very excited whenever I get new review. Again, I was just asking why a lot of my reviews got removed.
Okay then, I won’t do these kind of mistakes again. I am still learning how to be in this community, especially as theme and plugin author. I won’t use my business account (sukiwp) to post review or respond to forum. I will use my personal account (daviedr) instead. I won’t ask my friend or users in my community to do a review to my theme / plugin.
Thanks for clarifying everything to me. I’m sorry if my mistakes hurt you and the community. I really hope I can be good again in the community.

In reply to: My theme reviews got removed and account can’t post hereThese two accounts are used for different purposes.
daviedr is my old account, my personal account, where I used to browse www.ads-software.com for my personal uses.
sukiwp is a new account, used for releasing my themes and plugins, this is a serious business account, and I don’t want to mess it up.Is it not allowed to have 2 different accounts?
“You sock puppeted. Many times. You created a fake account and left a review of your own work and you had real people do that to. When that is found then the person loses their real account too. Sock puppets are taken very seriously.”
– Okay, the review from imeildolan is my mistake. But the other 4 removed reviews are from real users, not from me. Is that considered as sockpuppeted too?“You also spammed another plugin review with your link. That got your sukiwp account flagged.”
– sukiwp submitted some reviews on other plugins, yes. But it was honest reviews, we are really using it on our website, and no link are added in the review text.“One theme review was removed because the reviewer used the reviews to generate traffic.”
– Can you tell me which one? Because as far as I remembered, there was no review that contains link at all.Sorry if I violated any of this forum guidelines. Both my accounts (daviedr and sukiwp) are not intended for any negative purpose.

In reply to: My theme reviews got removed and account can’t post hereThat’s my friend, came to my house, I refer him my theme, and he directly gave review on www.ads-software.com. It’s fine if you delete his review, if it’s considered as spam.
But why did you delete other reviews as well? Is there any particular reason?
And why sukiwp can’t post a topic in this forum?
Thanks

In reply to: [Suki] Header image size on computerCurrently (on v0.5.2) the page header’s padding has limitation to 120px at max. We would fix it on the upcoming release.

In reply to: [Shortcode Pagination for WooCommerce] Conflict with Jetpack modulesI found a fix, but not sure if this causes other issues.
In your

file, comment these lines:$wp_query->found_posts = $GLOBALS['woocommerce_loop']['pagination']['found_posts']; $wp_query->post_count = $GLOBALS['woocommerce_loop']['pagination']['post_count']; $wp_query->current_post = $GLOBALS['woocommerce_loop']['pagination']['current_post'];

In reply to: [One Click Demo Import] Filter for menu title stringThanks capuderg, it works perfectly!
By the way, the filter tag is “pt-ocdi/plugin-page-setup”. I think it’s better if you keep the standard by using “_” instead of “-” like other filters.
