Sad. Got bloated.

  • Since 2.0 this plugin is unnecessarily bloated and does not follow the WP Admin UI. After years of using it, I’m now looking for a more unobtrusive plugin.

    Sorry to hear that you are disappointed with the update while we tried to improve the overall experience and features. We have introduced, WP-CLI support for configure settings page with WP-CLI command. Also Disable Comments now have the ability to block comments that comes from XML-RPC and REST-API. Most of these features are requested by lots of users. As we have added some new features, to set them up properly, we have introduced a simple one-time quick setup. So there’s no chance to create any impact on your WordPress. So I am not sure why you think it got bloated, we have rather optimized lots of things to improve performance.

    Regarding the UI, while some might love to see the default WP Admin UI, some prefer a bit polished modern design. And we tried to polish it up a bit, there’s nothing distracting in the design though we appreciate any feedback to improve further.

    We have released an update and removed the setup wizard completely, so there’s no more distraction I believe. We’ll be more careful to add new features and will surely keep it minimal.

    I hope you will keep using the plugin and share your valuable feedback so we can keep improving and up to date with time.
