Alternatively perhaps an option could be added to make registration keys any option during registration rather than a hard yes or no requirement. If they don’t have a key then they would need to wait for approval.

You can already make a page and use AAL to list all authors on it. From there just add a link to your widget along with the shortcode to the full list.

I just wanted to follow up so no one else finds out the hard way like I did. I customized SLA a bit before figuring out that it does not overwrite new old avatar uploads so it can gobble up space on with a bbpress install.

I have asked WP User Avatar creator Bangbay if she could take a look at compatibility with Author Avatars List and have linked to this thread.

Thank you Paul. I found that “Simple Local Avatars” is a working alternative to go with your wonderful plugin.

For anyone else who uses this post as a resource, know that with SLA as of 2.0 there is a developer filter for limiting the size of uploaded avatars but it has to be implemented manually. I am attempting to learn how to implement it.

I goofed, #3 (the second #3, apparently I messed up there too lol) is not a bug, it was an issue with how I typed the question.

Besides that, I don’t see how the computers brand could be an issue.

I had the same issue and a workaround I found is to use the “WP Image Size Limit” plugin. It does effect all image upload attempts though. The only drawback I saw when I tried to use it in conjunction with Goldman’s plugin is that it removes the avatar that the person already had when it fails.
