Thanks for your help.
Looks like WP isn’t compatible with the default cPanel Suhosin install when building Apache. Disabled it, it saved and displayed fine. Enabled it, it didn’t save anything in there.

thanks esmi, it’s driving me mad! I’m having to write my posts in Taco HTML Edit just in case WP doesn’t save them!

PHP Version: 5.3.2
MySQL Version: 5.1.46

Oh, and by the way, it’s doing it with LIPSUM text too, so it’s not specific text etc.

edit: also, I can write the data into the database using phpmyadmin fine, and also display it via WP … but WP won’t accept saving via the interface ??

edit2: edit same post in WP (it displays ok), press update, content gone.

edit3: done db repair,optimization,and so on no difference

edit4: done a re-upgrade, no difference

@djzone – tried that, no go ??

then it wipes out the entire text upon save.

Even disabled the XHTML and emoticons options.

yes, they are. rebuilding apache just in case.

it’s two separate sites that are doing it. one’s got stuff on, the other hasn’t – and they are both having this “problem”.

esmi, yes i have. tried all of that. had a stock 2.9.2 install without any plugins or themes installed, and it’s not working. when i enter anything in the content area, when i save it and go back, the content’s empty – it happens when i create OR edit a page.

my post problem appears to happen without any plugins uploaded/installed, and across any theme, so it looks like either an upgrade issue, or a code issue? Tried re-upgrading, and it still happens…

to confirm, two different wp installs doing it.. both were a 2.9.2 upgrade

I’m having the same problem – upgraded various sites – when you add a post, or edit one, it empties the content out…

Tell them to reinstall Zend Optimizer – that usually caused them to show if it’s corrupted, which one of the versions recently was..

if it’s a cpanel box, tell them to ssh in and run the following:
