Please check that you haven’t used any custom css in the customizer CSS area.

If you wish to make the feature image as full width feature image with parallax effect, then it can done with Page header module which is available in Astra Pro.

You can check out the page header documentation about Page header.

This plugin is been developed to create header footer with Elementor. So as of now you can only work with Elementor page builder in order to create your own custom header or footer.

If you are having Astra Pro then you would be able to remove the border and the spacing between site title and menu using the spacing module and disabling the header border setting from customizer setting.

If you don’t have Astra Pro then you can do it by some CSS properties. Please provide me your site link if you wish me to provide the custom CSS for the same.

Glad that you were able to solve your issue. Yes, using !important is not considered always a good practice, but to overwrite some predefined code you can do that.
