Thanks for using our plugin.

This plugin neither use or create any cookies with personal information from visitors nor collect/store any personal information. There is no feature in plugin to save/store any information and no data is being shared with 3rd parties.

Plugin only hide the actual pact of file and help site to allow downloading file without exposing the real path of file on server.

Yes files should reside on same server as of WordPress.

There is no download page created as required for plugin and described in guidelines:
https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/hide-real-download-path/installation

Also as your base path set is ‘/home/xxxxx/public_html/xxxxxx.com/wp-content/uploads/’ please make sure you have all your files to hide are direct within ‘Uploads’ directory. (Generally developers create a folder within uploads to group all files in single directory, if you are also following same, change base path accordingly)

Hi,

Apologies for delay in response, I havent personally tried it but it should work if you set site name in allowed hotlinking option from which files will be downloaded in newsletters.
Such as if you are using mailchimp, add link of domain/subdomain provided by mailchimp after you upload file on it. (not mailchimp.com)

I have tested plugin with different size PDF and unable to replicate issue using version 1.6

403 indicates restricted access to directory or file on server, is it feasible to share site URL/details on mail. If yes please mail to deepak[at]xlab.co.in
This shall help to assist better.

This was an issue in versoin 1.5 for some extensions but fixed in 1.6. Let me review and confirm back shortly. BTW whats the size of file you uploaded?

Sorry for delay in response, do you mean you want to hide a complete URL? Or any file?
Plugin helps to hide the real path of file located on your server.
