Thanks for the answer! I hoped that with some updates of the Yoast SEO plugin this problem will be solved, but there is no change since the last plugin update.
Is there any other solution to get back the previews?

I don’t want to switch to a standard theme as we purchased our professional theme and it was a lot of time to customize it. Until now there was no problem, so it is very strange that it suddenly just stopped showing the preview images.

Yes, of course, it’s activated. I never deactivated it. Now I checked again and it’s enabled.
As I wrote earlier, I did not change anything in the plugin, it just started to have this problem a week ago. Before everything was okay. I also have been told it can be because of the social plugin. But I also deactivated the Social Warfare plugin I had, and it id not solve the problem.

I also tried to force a different image on the Social tab of Yoast under each post for Facebook, but it does not work. I am disappointed in Yoast SEO. I don’t know what to do. Jetpack answered me that the Social plugin and Yoast SEO have a conflict, but even when I deactivated the Social plugin, the problem was not solved and I have the same issue.
