Thanks again for the reply. Apparently my webhost manager panel has erroneous information. ip for my blog is not the same as my cpanel and just out of frustration i tried the ip for my cpanel and added the user and it seems to have worked. not really sure why:

since it is a fresh install on this host do i still need to trash the cache folder contents? I’m still not certain that i installed all of this correctly. Again, thank you very much for your quick responses.

I wasn’t clear in my last post. The link is currently working because the DNS servers haven’t flipped over yet. They should in next few hours. The server i’m switching over to is:

I know I didn’t restore the DB correctly because I didn’t know what I was doing on the new host. I was trying to follow the directions at both of the links you’ve posted but lost it at the restore step. Would you mind helping me get this sorted out?

ok – i was able to delete the folder using terminal but this is the error I’m receiving:

Any Ideas?

I tried what you suggested but it didn’t work. I am also unable to remove the uploads folder nor change permissions on it. Any suggestions?
