I did flush (if you mean clicking clear cache button).
I’m getting an error message now that the plugin is trying to minify a file from another plugin, but it is missing. Well, it is missing because I deleted the plugin. But now that I am on manual mode, I have not asked the plugin to minify that file it claims is missing. SO I’m confused. Should I try uninstalling the plugin and starting over?

@marius @jan I’ve been in touch with Dreamhost asking about their managed WordPress hosting, but so far that question has been ignored and I’ve been told repeatedly to increase RAM on my VPS. Quite frustrating. They’re usually fantastic with customer service so not sure what’s going on. Based on the responses to my initial question here, I think it’s quite obvious I need to switch over to managed WP hosting, though. Thanks!

I did not exclude any files from minification. I’ve since switched to manual mode and included the files, but Page Speed Insights from Google is telling me the files are not minified. I’m wondering if maybe this plugin is incompatible with the Divi and Extra themes?
(having same issue on https://www.delapuravida.com which uses Extra)

Thanks for the response! I only have 1GB of RAM. I moved from shared hosting because I was told my site would run faster on a VPS, but I guess I’m in over my head because I don’t know how to custom configure it to take advantage of the VPS? At least that’s what I’m being told now by Dreamhost support. I’m wondering if I’d be better off with a managed WordPress host.
Do you mind sharing what service you use that is 2gb for less than $5 a month?

After much digging, I managed to get rid of the error by switching from Disk Enhanced mode to Disk Basic in Page Cache. The weird thing now is that Google PageSpeed Insights tells me to minify css to increase speed, but I have that enabled in the plugin so not sure why it isn’t minifying the css. Well, in case anyone else has this problem I just resolved it. I deactivated, crawled with success, re-activated and crawled with success. Looks like it just needed some toggling.

Yes I understand thanks. There were physical folders and files in the themes folder. Very suspicious.

Thanks. So you can verify that this plugin didn’t install any files at all in your themes folder?
I didn’t think there should be any files in the themes folder. I am cleaning up a site after a hack. Could have been through this plugin.

So, FYI:
If anyone else comes here with a similar issue – the above fix, of course, works. The reason mine were still displaying incorrectly is because I had the Yoast SEO title field filled in on some particular pages. That field has to be blank for the settings in Titles & Metas to work.

Finally found the time to investigate. Turns out it was the plugin Facebook Like Thumbnail that was causing the problem on my site. Thought I’d share in case anyone else runs into the problem in the future.

I was having this problem, but only in Firefox. I disabled the Digg and Delicious buttons and the problem seems to be fixed now.

Will temporarily disabling a plugin or changing a theme cause any custom modifications to be deleted?
