I use this plugin myself on two large production web sites. I understand you have had a fairly major problem. If you could provide me with some more details it would be helpful for resolving any possible issue with the plugin.

    Hi,

I’m not sure what happened with the plugin for you. What the plugin does is look through table data looking for images references. If the image is not referred to by a post outside of the media library it is presented as an unused image. When the image is deleted via the interface the file in the file system is deleted after the media library reference in the database table is deleted. No other image should be touched other that those selected in the interface. I have gone through the code a couple times to ensure that is the case after seeing your issue, and I do not understand how this could have happened. As I have indicated I used this on a couple of large production web sites for some clients of mine.

Without having a copy of your DB and file system it would be hard to diagnose the issue. If you can provide such a copy, I’d be happy to look into it for you.

    Hi Riu,

That is a lot of images, for sure! The plugin will find the unattached images and allow you to delete them. By default the plugin lists 20 images at a time, but you can increase this to any number you want. The issue will become server timeouts as this number gets larger, although at what point it becomes an issue is server dependent.

I suggest you try various numbers of images per page and see what works for you.
