In reply to: Is it possible to do this with custom fields?Hi all
It’s a month since I posted this query and I’ve still not found the answer. Is there anyone out there who can help? The azindex plug-in does not help with my problem.

In reply to: How Can I Show New Comments First?No problem, though I will repeat the instructions here just so other people searching for it can understand what’s going on.
It really is VERY simple!
1. Open comments.php
2. Find the line:foreach ($comments as $comment) {
3. Immediately before that line, add$comments = array_reverse($comments);
That’s it!

In reply to: Please test my sailing blog to destructionOf course I should point out, and I guess you have worked this out already, but the side bar you describe only appears like that on the home page. If you go into any of the posts the sidebar changes. Indeed there are a number of different sidebars, depending upon which page or post you are in.

In reply to: Please test my sailing blog to destructionPoint taken. After reading your initial comment I went back to the site with a fresh pair of eyes and got where you were coming from. I need to sleep on it for a few days, or even take a break from looking at it, but I do tend to agree with you now that you have pointed it out.
Yours myopically!

In reply to: Please test my sailing blog to destructionThat’s an interesting comment, thank you. Where in particular would you say there is color ‘overdose’? Perhaps you have grown used to mono-coloured designs, or maybe I’ve been looking at my own design too long to see where I could improve the colour scheme. The colours do compliment each other, after all.
Perhaps the side-bar could be blue-themed and the main part of the page brown? Maybe drop the blue in the sidebar altogether?
Keen to learn more…

In reply to: Admin Comment different Style?Hey Otto, this article is very interesting. I’m not a theme developer, I’m just customising my own theme so this is pretty important stuff.
I’m off to read and digest it. Thanks for the heads up on the changes for 2.7.

In reply to: Backup DB just downloads empty .php fileFunnily enough I’d loaded this up but hadn’t activated it. To be honest I thought I’d already activated it and thought the standard ‘export’ function in WP was this plugin. Der! The export function was returning the same error.
Anyway, I’m using the plugin as we speak and I’ve also scheduled a daily backup to be emailed to me too. Nice feature. Let’s see what happens.
Thanks for the help.

In reply to: Display additional field in comments (maybe cform solution?)Hmmm, perhaps I should rephrase the above problem because it seems it is not a problem with either the Extra Comments Field plug-in I mentioned, or cforms either.
The problem is losing the additional field when editing a comment. I have a number of comments I need to backdate, and each comment has an additional field ‘location’. This displays ok if I don’t don’t touch the comment but when I edit a comment that additional field is not displayed and the field is lost when I save the edit.
Is there a work-around for this?
