Ah, I figured it might be the case. No, nofollow on the links wouldn’t be enough.

I’ve put a question out on Yoast’s SEO plugin forum to see whether posts in a particular category could have noindex added- that way, your plugin’s posts could be placed in a particular category and then that plugin could complete the task.

I think it is important that rss-multi-importer has at least some workaround or advice to offer because Google can punish mere mirroring sites in search rankings – and yet there are of course legitimate reasons why a site republishes posts from other sites.

I would love to find out how to change the base of the tree from the root index to one particular page and its sub-pages.

I’m sure it’s not that complicated, it’s just a matter of declaring where to start.

I’ve the same problem. WordPress 2.8.4 and Twitter tools 2.0

I do have an accented character in my latest blog post, if that’s any help, although I see that that was covered. It’s a new blog – I’ve only posted twice, first one went through fine, this second one didn’t get “tweeted” and when I check the settings I get

“Sorry, login failed. Error message from Twitter: This method requires authentication.”

The problem is with the “LastChange” field in the sitemap. How is this generated? How can it be changed?

If I fiddle with the xml file myself, and change the date, which I am reluctant to do, won’t the plugin revert to the old date once I rebuild the sitemap?

Sorted it. Added QSA R L to both lines, thus:

RewriteRule ^labels/([^/]+).html$ category/$1/ [QSA,R,L]
RewriteRule ^archive/([0-9]{4})_([0-9]{1,2})_([0-9]{1,2})_archive.html$ $1/$2/ [QSA,R,L]

OK I’m trying here but it’s still not working, and I’ve just a few hours before it all goes live.

I’m trying for the categories:

RewriteRule ^labels/(.*).html$ category/$1/ [L]

and for the archives:

RewriteRule ^archive/([0-9]{4})_([0-9]{1,2})_([0-9]{1,2})_archive.html$ $1/$2/ [L]

I get a 404 file each time. I think I’m nearly there but does anyone know what I’m doing wrong? Thanks

Just a quick question to follow up – I need to write in the .htaccess file a rewrite rule that changes requests for the old blogger archive and labels files to either the relevant archive and category pages in wordpress, or at least the index page. Google tends to use archive pages in old results.

So if someone is looking for the May 2006 archive, the structure in blogger is:

https://bonhom.ie/archive/2006_05_01_archive.html

In wordpress, the structure will be:

https://bonhom.ie/2006/05

Similarly, with categories/labels, the blogger structure is, for example with music:

https://bonhom.ie/labels/music.html

The wordpress structure will be:

https://bonhom.ie/category/music

I attempted tinkering with the .htaccess file myself but I don’t know what I’m doing and it crashed wordpress.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I’m trying to do something similar, move a podcast at blogger to wordpress. Has anyone managed to do this, without having to manually attach each mp3 file enclosure to the new blog?

I tried the blogger import tool at wordpress.com but it failed to import the enclosures or targeted mp3 files.
