It looks like you may have figured out how to get CYC working very nicely with Subscribe2. Would you be able to share anything you learned? I’m trying to accomplish the same thing so any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

I have to chime in on this as well. I am running 2.5.1 and it doesn’t work for me either. I have tried everything. It simply doesn’t work. it’s a shame though, this could have been a really great plugin. Too bad it seems like he author is asleep at the wheel.

Well after a thorough examination of the code and a ton of google searching, I found the answer to the problem. I was looking at the version of the thumbnail.inc.php that sits on the server and I decided to take a look at the file from the archive (zip) file. I noticed a discrepancy in file sizes and as it turns out when I uploaded the plugin the file was incomplete. The unexpected error was a result of the bad file.

I use fGallery on a few of my sites as well and have seen the same problem. I wrote a little plug-in/widget for the sidebar if your template is widget-ready.
