are you using a WP.com account or are you installing WP onto a web account you have setup with a hosting company?

if you have an account with a host, you should be able to FTP and upload the theme folder to the “wp-content/themes/” folder and then login into the admin and under presentation select your theme

what are you trying to ACTIVATE?

are you referring to installing WP on your web server?

again, what is the site url and the url to the worpress folder .. is it in the root directory of the site?

if you are getting the erro that there exists another instalation of WP. either delete the database created or create another one and install it again.

ALL FILES AND FOLDER in the “WORDPRESS” folder when you unzip it should be uploaded; you only have to change the sample config file and rename it to wp-config.php with the information from your database, username, password …

is thsi the address?

to your problem .. not sure that I am following you ..

have you tried downloading WP again and only making changes to the config file .. although you can make changes in DW, I find it much more easier to use notepad or wordpad or a plain text editor. DreamWeaver might not be the best for this instnce to simply accomplish filling in your server and database information.

We are more than willing to help you figure this out .. but I suggest downloading another copy of WP and trying another go at it ..

webDUmmy .. you can achieve this for and strip it down or eliminate certain aspects of you see when you visit the site .. although if you want to add it back you can down the road …

but it really helps to know what template you will be suing .. we cannot exactly tell you where to look unless we have an idea of the theme you like …

is it one that already exists and you are just modifying it? if so, we can look at the same theme .. and tell you specifically where to go ..

if it is custom built … then you might have to paste the code for eage PHP file you have and then we can tell you what to delete.

have you tried the “forgot password option” ?
