most times the Registrar – the company you wne through to register your domain name through, might offer this already in your domain costs, or mihgt add a “forwarding feature” at an additional cost … somewhere like $5.00 USD ..

i know the company i use … RegisterFly.com offers this in their low domain cost of $8.99 USD per domain .. now extra costs or strings.

i second Viper … WORDPRESS; hands down, takes the cake!!!!

i have seen some others out there in the last week from these so called “Christian organizations” and they have a CMS, much like WordPress, but they are charging in the neighborhood of $500-$2500 … WAY TOO MUCH !! and when you compare what they use and the backing that WordPress has, the enormous amount of plugins available and those *extras*, and the amazing community and contributors like Viper …

WORDPRESS wins by a landslide ..

glad to know you figured it out .. i really like it cause you can place images, text and whatever else you want in certain places and make it look like your site is dynamic as it rotates to other entries in that same category ..

also, you can insert images and text along with links, either internal to your site or external to paid advertisers …

i think you can do that … just do not go as far as one i saw last night that made claims it was their cms interface – when clearly it was WordPress from the snapshot they had on their website.

i will find the exact site later tonight and post the link since it is on my browser history on my home computer.

taking a look at that site, and one i helped in developing … it looks like it might be this plug-in :

of course you can get this same effect using “now reading” or you could use “Randomize” … i used it on a site and it works great …

ADHESIVE PLUGIN

i have placed the adhesive plugin on the Internet for all to download … if anybody is listening .. please use the link above until RedAlt gets everything back up and running – i do not plan to take this link down for some time … It will be available until an updated version is released …

i tried both domains at your redrabit.com website and they seemed to point to the same page with jsut a white background and the text “www.redrabit.com”

it looks like WordPress is installed in another folder besides “blog”

well, just for the RECORD. I will keep the “adhesive plugin” available for upload as long as the community needs it, or until a newer version comes out.

i know you said you do not really need a gallery, but i have been using Gallery2 with the WPG2 plugin and i think this will do what you want it to.

in an earlier thread i gave reference to a personal family page i just finished .. take a look there and see if the gallery meets what you are looking for.
