I have now deactivated both versions and deleted them in WordPress. But they don’t seem to be completely erased. Via ftp I can see that the folder wp-content/cache/autoptimize still exists. Unfortunately, I can’t quickly determine whether there are still leftovers in the WordPress database.

As a result of the test, I now have 2 Autoptimize plugins in my plugin overview in WordPress and in the WordPress file directory. In principle, how could I uninstall both completely, including all database entries and directories, and then reinstall the new version with the new standard settings?

The beta version helped. After installing the 3.0.2 beta 0, the error when activating the plugin no longer occurs and WordPress seems to work normally again.

I can confirm the bug. I noticed the bug a short time ago. It’s not a plugin conflict. I could at least at PG v2.6.0 and v2.6.1. It occurs in many text descriptions, but not in everything. Sometimes the menu bar at the bottom, where you can toggle the text display etc. on and off, doesn’t appear either.

The mobile device is a Samsung Note 10+ with Android 12 (Samsung One UI 4.0) and the latest Firefox.

I’ve noticed also the problem with the missing “explicit width and height” in PageSpeedInsights and have addressed it here for a while and entered it under Submit you idea.

Thank you for the correction and the possibility to use your php file. For me this was a better option than using functions.php because I also had a lot of different jobs. My test wordpress and my main wordpress should now run without problems with the new version of BackWPup.

I also have the problem. Can I also create a BackWPup.php file with the content “BackWPup_Option :: delete_job ($ jobid);” and call it up via https://Domain.de/BackWPup.php? I would not like to make changes in the functions.php.

Maybe I can still help a little. You have already done most of it. The procedure is a bit tricky. B-)

– You create the appropriate directory for the images via ftp
– then you load the pictures into the directory via ftp
– in the admin interface of WP you create a new gallery in PhotoGallery
– then you go to the gallery on add photos
– then the filemanager opens and you have to go to the appropriate directory
– if nothing is displayed you have to perform a refresh in the filemanager
– then you mark all image files, even if they do not show a preview image, and load
– them into the gallery
– in the gallery you have to select / mark all pictures and make a reset as a collection action
– the directories .original and .thumb are then created and filled
– then the image views should be displayed everywhere (filemanager / gallery)

I had used WordPress 5.7.2 and YOAST SEO 16.4 in Windows 10. As a browser, I had some windows open in Firefox 88.x. In the windows I had galleries, gallery tags etc. open because I had to change a lot. It happened from time to time that several boxes opened in one window. Unfortunately I didn’t take a screenshot of it. I couldn’t recreate the problem now either, but it was definitely there. I’ll keep watching and if it happens again I’ll be in touch.

I find the hint with the redirect very helpful. As already described, I also understand the need for advertising. But I have the feeling that no matter what I do in WordPress and only remotely related to YOAST, I immediately see the request to YOAST Premium with text and a large orange box.

Please don’t get this wrong. I find your program very useful and I would like to say again that I understand the advertising for the receipt of the plugin. Perhaps you could make the advertising a little more subtle and reduce the large advertising to the actual YOAST administration.

So I have a lot of work to do.

I have now found out that when I update a gallery a corresponding post will also be created, if it does not already exist. Google then includes this created page in the search index. Therefore, it would be advantageous if the description of the gallery would also be included in the creation of this post. With this text, Google would have more information for indexing.

Many thanks for the quick response. Since this function was supposedly created specifically in collaboration with YOAST, I didn’t know where to ask first. I’ll read through your links and ask PG again.
