In reply to: [WooCommerce] Disable variations in GreyHow did it not occur to the folks who wrote woocommerce that things come in colors and sizes, may not be available in all combinations – and making the customer guess, scroll, see ‘out of stock’ scroll back, guess again until they find the combination that is available was a dumb thing to do?
Hello Hardeep,
I’m sorry but I don’t remember. I replaced Stackable with Kadence and Ultimate Add-ons and your plugin works fine.

In reply to: View Page or View Post from gutenberg editor@abda53 I don’t think you understand the design spec. The folks designing this are worried are our health, that we all work too hard and get too much done, so they have designed this interface to make to slow us down and get in our way as much as possible. ??
This is not ‘disrupting’ one user’s workflow. It’s a stupid decision that benefits a very small number of users. We have add another plugin (on top of the enhanced media library and media library assistant to make the wordpress media library useable?????

In reply to: [Enhanced Media Library] Abandoned plugin? There was a gap because, ya know, stuff happens, but the author is back, responding to and resolving support requests. There are a couple of recent very specific requests (not working with a single theme that doesn’t play well with lots of things and one special request about using the taxonomies from EML for something else) but other than those, support for this is the same or better than the other plugins on here.
I panicked because there’s nothing else that does what this plugin does. It cuts dev time on an image-intensive site by many, many hours, days, weeks.

In reply to: [Enhanced Media Library] DIVI Image Module UploadsMy problem was minor (hitting random characters on the keyboard and one extra mouse click). The time I spent looking for a replacement was my fault for not having a backup plan and relying on a single-source. My fear was that the next major wordpress update would make EML not work at all and that’s something I should have considered earlier in the build process. In an international market, political instability can affect anyone (I live in the US and, well…lol). People get sick. People die. (I am very happy to see that you’re alive and do hope that you are well.)
I beta test for three other developers and am happy to beta test your next version.
David
PS Again, EML is far superior to any other media manager plugin on the market.

In reply to: [Enhanced Media Library] DIVI Image Module UploadsHello Nadia,
Glad that you are still with us. The upload problem noted above was the only problem I had and that has been fixed. I use EML on a Woocommerce site and I’ve not noticed any problems with that either.
I have to say that I searched and searched for a replacement for EML, tried every other media manager plugin and nothing comes close to EML. I even tried using three different plugins at the same time and couldn’t replicate EML’s functionality.
I’m really just an expert at pulling my hair out. I have a really complicated taxonomy on an e-commerce site that’s built around EML. I think I can replace it with three plugins.
It’s “best practice.” so you really should contact the hosting company and ask them to help you with setting up a staging site. There are a number of things that can break a website and sometimes they’re not apparent. You can restore from a backup but then you can lose a couple days work.
Independent of the problem, this is a nice plugin to have: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/media-library-assistant/
There’s some overlap but these will basically copy one EML category:
https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-media-library-categories/
https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-media-category-management/and these will create a folder structure much like Windows or Apple’s:
https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/media-library-organizer/
https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/folders/
https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/media-library-plus/
https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/organize-media-library/@barneywpf Yes. (It does on mine, at least). You might want to (on a staging site) try a few of the other media organizer plugins first because some of them let you import from EML. With that few images you can probably: install replacement, run it’s import function, delete EML, go on with your life as if nothing happened.
Hi,
This plugin has apparently been abandoned. It’s not been updated and support is not being provided. You best bet is to find a replacement.

In reply to: [Enhanced Media Library] Retrieve category with its images via REST APIYeah. Someone (for all we know, the author may have died) but someone/* is still taking people’s money for it. My guess is that refund requests are being met with silence. It’s unfortunate.

In reply to: [Enhanced Media Library] Retrieve category with its images via REST APIHi,
Before you put any more work into this or rely on it – it appears that this plugin has been abandoned by the author. It has not been updated in two years, support requests have not been answered in at least a year and some core functionality has stopped working.

In reply to: [Enhanced Media Library] incompatibilityNo problem. I’ve gotten so much help from these forums that it feels good to give back.
I have not found a substitute but I only need this for the build so I’m trying to finish that before this thing crashes completely.
You might try FileBird or Media Library Categories.
