In reply to: [Real Media Library: Media Library Folder & File Manager] Poor functionalityHi bredean,
I am sorry to hear that you have a problem with Real Media Library. As far as I understand your feedback, when you upload multiple files, do you experience that they are uploaded twice? We have never heard of such a problem caused by Real Media Library.
I checked our support system, but you didn’t ask us for help before giving us a bad review. Please open a support ticket at devowl.io/support and explain your problem in more detail or give us temporary access to your WordPress installation, and we will find out together if Real Media Library is causing this problem and how we can fix it.
Thanks!
Best,
Jan
Hi neversaynever504,
I am sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with our plugin, or to be more specific with the free version of the plugin.
As you can read in the description of the plugin, we offer a lot of features for free, but not all of them. The limitations are:
- Max. 300 images in bulk regenerate
- You can’t skip already existing thumbnail files
- Only regeneration of all image sizes possible
You know that before you install the plugin, and therefore I can’t understand why you give us a bad review when the functional limitations of the plugin are clear from the beginning.
If you are interested in an individual solution to this problem for your case, please open a support ticket at devowl.io/support and I am sure we will find a solution how to use what you expect from this plugin.
Best,
Jan

Hi @santi-navarro !
Thanks for your message and sorry for the delay.
What exactly does not work? Are you using free or PRO version?
Best regards,
Matthew ??You have understood the functionality completely correctly. The reason for this decision to use collections instead of normal folders is not immediately obvious.
We maintain compatibility with a variety of plugins (full list on our website: https://devowl.io/wordpress-real-media-library/#compatibility), including Justified Image Grid (https://justifiedgrid.com/) and FooGallery (https://foo.gallery/). These plugins provide the user with very dynamic galleries, which can consist of images only. For this purpose, these plugins group images into collections (“image galleries folders”). As part of compatibility, we have integrated their collections feature more naturally into the folder tree of the Real Media Library, making it as easy as possible to use. We and the developers of the two plugins want to avoid confusion for users, as it is called folders and collections, depending on whether you use Justified Image Grid and FooGallery with or without the Real Media Library.
In addition, as you have already mentioned, we use the collections with our own simple Gutenberg Gallery feature to group multiple images and galleries into just folders where you can only store images, to avoid the expectation that you can show videos or PDFs within a gallery, for example. Therefore, we decided to introduce the special kind of folders called collections as a structural element.
I hope that this explanation makes the reason for the collections a little clearer ??
