I don’t think the problem is with the $forumName, but using __ syntax on a changing variable. I can see that not matching in the language files.

I’ll make an update and remove the __ syntax. That should solve it.

That’s interesting as I just did a fresh install of wp, bp and the chat plugin and no errors at all.

Perhaps you have a caching problem enabled and are still looking at old files?

Did you check the chrome error console?

99% of the time it is due to a rogue javascript error that has nothing to do with the chat plugin. Please check that.

The plugin was removed as Matt didn’t like how there were ads in the plugin. We removed the ads and it’s now back:)

Ya sounds like a bug indeed as this isn’t supposed to work that way.

You can disable the shoutbox entirely in the settings. Also if you close it from the menu it should stay disabled.

Are there any errors in the Firefox error console?

It’s most likely due to the first error you see in the console. Once there’s a Javascript error it ruins it for the rest of the subsequent plugins. Fix the first error and go from there.

Did you chmod 777 the config directory? Usually I pop up an error message stating please do this, but you could have missed it somehow.
