I was beginning to think something like that. Now for cleaning that stuff up.
Thanks very much for all your help!
What’s really weird is that I have another installation – different wp espied files in another directory – and that one works just fine.
no. I’m using unmodified code everywhere (both wp and espied theme). At one point, I did create an espied child theme, but have since reverted back to the original, and deleted all child theme files.
I deactivated all plugins, including jetpack. Of course, the portfolio page failed, but everything else looked okay. Then activated ONLY Jetpack and verified the module (in setting > writing. Same symptoms as before (portfolio images displaying full-page. I verified that the static front page IS using the portfolio-page-template.
ooops. “in the range of 1000px”
That’s worth a try. However, I just deleted all my projects, and started over. So far I’ve got just two projects each containing pics in the range of pics.
Thanks for your continued help on this.A few of the photos i’ve loaded were snapshots in the size range around 240 x 350px. I’m just wondering if perhaps that’s way too small.
I have tried other themes, but have running the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin several times.
Yes, I’ve been over everything in your suggestion several times. My link clearly shows my dilema (at least on Safari and Firefox). As a SWAG, I’m wondering if it’s an image sizing issue.
I’ll re-do all of my images again before giving up on this theme.

In reply to: Nextgen Flashviewer Plug InI can’t get help on this issue either. It’s as though NextGen/Nggflash/simpleviewer/Imageflow are all obsolete products. I’ve spent a forgotten amount of hours searching for help and the articles I do find are years old, or for long-since updated versions, or the links are dead.
Please, if there are new products or I’m missing something obvious could somebody let me/us know?
Thank you.

In reply to: [WP Calendar] [Plugin: WP Calendar] {event-calendar} not workingThat seemed to work! It was at the bottom of the “global Setting”, and there are two drop down select boxes in order to “enable/disable” the libraries.
I agree about deleting the db tables. it’s had to tell which ones belong and which one don’t.
Thank you very much for your help!

In reply to: [WP Calendar] [Plugin: WP Calendar] {event-calendar} not workingThanks for responding. I find that code piece, but I have no ides about checking javascript or what to do about it. I’ve tried the original “twentyten” theme and same problem. One thing I’m wondering is that I’ve tried several different calandar plugins and since have deactivated/deleted them, but I notice the tables still exest in the db. I’d drop them if I knew when ones to keep. Thanks.

In reply to: [WP Calendar] [Plugin: WP Calendar] {event-calendar} not workingI’m having the same problem too, but NOT using “mailchimp”. So the problem must not be that plugin. In fact, “WP Calendar” is the ONLY plugin I have active.
I’m having the same problem. When I visit the page, it merely displays, ‘<!– hgk feedback form –>

In reply to: DMSGuestbook not working with SQL5.0I deleted the initial “admin” user, which had an ID=1, and created a new “admin” user, which made it then ID=5. Everything works (at least this issue is taken care of). The initial admin user level should have been set to 10, but in fact, it was null.
