Looks like WPSEO has been updated Today and in the change logs it fixes the “12345” problem.

I would suggest updating to WP 3.4.1 and also WPSEO 1.2.4

I only discovered the problem about 2 hours ago.

ai1ec was updated few days after WPSEO so can only assume ai1ec broke WPSEO.

I was going to email ai1ec and raise the problem.

I could be wrong but I notice you also have Add-Meta-Tags installed. Might be worth deactivating so Yoast can take care of the meta data.

Also it does take time for google to see your changes.

Just thought I’d give an update.

My 404 issue appeared to be a conflict with wp-ecommerce plugin. I noted a warning when I saved the permalink and this warning was from wp-ecommerce. I deleted the plugin and 10 hrs later I’m not getting 404’s anymore on my posts.

But 404 errors are not server communication errors.

Well today I initiated a host transfer so I will wait and see if the problem fixes itself. With old host I could not get access to these logs anyway. This is one of reasons why I’m migrating.

Oh yeah I remember now, 2 home pages only appear when using this structure.

After some digging about looks like you need to edit the themes header.php.

open up your header.php and delete
<li><a href="<?php echo get_option('home'); ?>/">Home</a></li>

Try this
Settings > Reading

Change Front page displays to “A Static Page” then in the Front page dropdown choose your “real” home page. Posts Page can be left blank, but I would suggest having a page called Blog or News and use as Post Page.
