Hi,

Image Widget was my first thought for the list that this website has, however, it doesn’t seem to affect Text widgets, only Image. I suspect that it could be something with WordPress’ core files as I upgrades from an old version to a newer version around this time.

Did you end up resolving this issue or finding out what happen?

I’ve recently experienced an issue like this and can’t find any reason for this happening.

For example, we upgraded WordPress from 4.4.2 to 4.7.3, after more than a week, I was reviewing the site and didn’t see any of my Widgets showing up, just a blank side bar or footer of the page.

When I logged in, Appearance > Widgets had all the instances of the widgets, but the “Text” widgets were all gone, the Image widgets were still there.

I ended up finding a local copy of the website and re-created all the Text Widgets but I don’t know what happen and need to update the owner of the website.
