Thanks for the follow up.
I recommended the Otter Pro package to my client. They actually went in and purchased the plugin and then sent me the download. I do not have credentials to log in and add a support ticket. I can supply their license through a secure/non-puplic channel. My contact with the username and password is out of town and no one else has the information. I’m stuck. This forum is the only channel I have access to.
Several of the issues were included in my original post.
How would you like to proceed?Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Gutenberg] Copy / Paste Content Blocks FailingThank you for replying. I gave all of this a shot but nothing helped. Additionally, I’m trying to stand up a new site for another client and I had to create a fresh install of WordPress. Before I added any plugins, I tried to copy/past blocks within the same page and across pages. Same unfortunate outcome (replaces the block I’m trying to paste into instead of adding the block I’ve copied as a sibling block. The problem persists across Chrome and Safari browsers both with fresh caches. Very, very, very annoying.
Naaa. Like I said, my needs were straight forward and simple. I have link on a web page. on click, open a modal and center a video. Resize the video as needed to keep it centered regardless of viewport width. Took way too long to try and achieve this very simple, straightforward outcome. This should take less than five minutes to achieve. Trial and error, math, help files, support tickets… I’ve moved on. Thanks for the response.

In reply to: [Getwid - Gutenberg Blocks] Recent Gutenberg Update & Getwid SectionHere is a video link covering what I am seeing…
After recording the video and posting it, I wonder if there aren’t issues with the Webyx plugin I’m running as well? It relies heavily on the “section” element?

In reply to: [Webyx] Not happy. Licensed Pro version.I’ll bet it is a coding day.
I brought up the migration concerns on June 28, 2023. Read the post here. The instructions I was given regarding migration and activation of Pro license were:
“In Gutenberg it is possible to copy-paste the Sections you have already created, in the new Pro block.”
Now, you are telling us, not to copy and paste content from Free to Pro because of Webyx template call (located in the page’s body element) does not get updated while performing a copy/paste effort… this now explains the dependency between Free and Pro versions.
Evidently, they are not “separate” products!

In reply to: [Webyx] Not happy. Licensed Pro version. The issue is not yet resolved. The issue I reported does indeed involve the Free version. The Pro doesn’t work when the Free is deactivated.

In reply to: [Webyx] Can’t activate Pro license?Just a quick update on this for others out there that might be interested in this topic…
I am sticking with the paid version. It was surprising to learn, I couldn’t just pick up the work by transitioning straight from free to pro, it hasn’t been toooo bad.
What I’ve learned:
You can add a Webyx Pro block to a page that already contains a Webyx Free block. Previewing a page with both Pro and Free results in constant thinking (endless rotator). But, you can begin to migrate from Free to Pro on the same page.
I had trouble copying a Webyx “Section” from the free block to the paid block on the same Page. However, I could copy a Section (and the Slides that Section contained) from one Webyx Free block (page A) to a Webyx Pro block on a different page (page B).
While this is indeed time consuming and mildly frustrating, I still believe the Webyx plugin is worth it. If you’re leaning towards the Pro version, go ahead and jump in. It may save you some time down the road.Forum: Plugins

In reply to: [Webyx] Slide background color behind transparent png background imageI think the functionality you have brought to the table here is great for rich storytelling. I promise not to be a burden for much longer. I’m just trying to get my feet off the ground here and would like to avoid a bunch of rework down the road because I didn’t ask questions up front. Thanks for your patience with me.
I was able to address the issue I was having by adding a bit of custom CSS for background color on slides with transparent background image. It’s a long story, but… if I compose something in an image creation tool (Figma) and I export the entire composition (with background color too) as png or svg… during the compression, it is possible the composition’s color shifts slightly (e.g. towards a warmer or cooler tone based on the overall color profile of the comp being compressed on export). If I’m shooting for consistent color profile across slides and each slide’s composition has a slightly different “tone” after compression, then I have a problem. Exporting each comp from Figma with a transparent background and then setting the same color background value for each slide in Webyx allows me to:
1.) Create a more consistent looking slide carousel (no color shifting)
2.) Overlay more content on top of the background image
3.) I can use “fixed” and “scroll” in fun ways to amplify the motion and parallax effect as needed.
Thanks again. I figure it all out soon.
