This problem of the accordions stuck in open position still persists with our sites. I opt to keep the plug-in at version 2.2.70 on production as that works.

We host on WP Engine. I have no 3rd party cache plugins installed within WordPress. I’m sure WP Engine has caching – but also know many people use it so I should imagine the plugin functions with that.
WP version: 6.3.1
Current version of Accordions running: 2.2.89
