go to Customize > Portfolio Posts – Grid Columns

Check the file archive.php. Your child theme has it?

If so, look at its code, is it the same as here?

If so, remove these lines (20-25) from the file:

20	                        <div class="section-title center wow fadeIn">
21	                                <?php

I did not understand your requests what you want. It would be better if you send screenshots with your notes (markers, scetch, arrow etc.) that show what you want.

However, I am sure that most of what you want can be done adding custom css.

You can try to regenerate the images with this plugin

Also question: do you use any plugin to optimize images? Try turning it off and regenerate the images (see plugin above) and see what happens.

I see the featured images look nice. Pro what images you write? Inside the post, in the content?

I’m sure it’s a plugin bug which via to show images. Disable all plugins that are related to images. Check out how content looks. Paste the image into the post without any a plugin. Check out how content looks. Then turn on the plugins one by one and see what happens. So you will find a plugin that does not work well. This doesn’t theme’s bug.
