I just did a test on the beta website and this is what I was looking for.

I assume the username and email address fields are optional but the idea of the comment box with the smilies that can be clicked upon is what I had in mind.

Update: I will not create a separate ticket for the geomapping as I read on your website geodata does not work when ajax is enabled.

For me this implies I have to disable ajax for the time being.

(This was the text I wanted to enter in the ticket)
    Instead of the map I see now “[map style=”width: auto; height:300px; margin:0; ” marker=”yes” lat=”51.012339566667″ lon=”5.2389474333333″]”
I have the text “w#location” in II-B15 (Custom box content) and I have IX-A7.1 and IX-A7.2 enabled.

It doesn’t matter if I enable IV-A1.1 or not. It is working in both cases.

The rating and the comment also work with or without the frontend activated.

I just noticed the geomapping is no longer working.
I will start a separate ticket for this.

With the status code 202 I didn’t get no pictures indeed.

I just upgraded to 5.1.18 and without changing any setting it works now.
    Thanks for solving the problem.

Thanks for the tip but it doesn’t seem to solve the problem.
I still have the same problem and this is the output from the Chromium developer tools.

If you provide me with the patch, I’ll install it and give you the status code.

I had a look using the developer tools in Chromium and this is the output.
Is the 202 that you can see at the end the status code you expected?

It still on a local host only. I’m not that far yet that I can publish my website already.

It’s not a critical issue for me. For the time being I’ll continue without Ajax enabled.

    Thread Starter Dirk Claesen

    (@dirk-claesen)

I know it is working fine on your website, but I keep having the same issue on my website.

Can I somehow force the refresh or see when the change is fully applied?

In the meantime I must have left my website for about an hour after activating ajax, rebooted the server and still have the same problem.

    (@dirk-claesen)

Thanks a lot for all your work!
I’ll try the next release as soon as it is available.

    Thread Starter Dirk Claesen

    (@dirk-claesen)

I didn’t have time to try your new release candidate, but I just installed the final release and the problem with the edit photo not displaying the actual picture has disappeared.

If I change the description and wait until the “refresh and exit” button appears in the upper right corner, then the complete change is applied.
That is something an end user can be informed of and will keep him happy.
When pressing the “refresh and exit” button the page is refreshed and the new description is displayed (under Firefox, Chromium and Opera). This problem is thus solved as well.

I noticed however that if I make a change I have to press the “refresh and exit” button twice. First I have to wait for the countdown. If I click the button then I see another countdown (only wait for 1 second) and if I then click again on the button, the popup window is closed and the page is refreshed.

If it could be fixed that one click on the button would close the popup window and trigger the refresh, that would be great.

Minor note: shouldn’t the text be “exit and refresh” as first you close the popup window and then a refresh is triggered. With the text “refresh and exit” it seems to me that the refresh is done first, followed by an exit from the current screen. (but now I’m really splitting hairs)

When logged in as administrator the edit photo shows the correct photo even when switching via the photo browser bar.
This problem seems to be related to a normal user only.

    Thread Starter Dirk Claesen

    (@dirk-claesen)

Under Firefox it seems to work correctly.
When I edit a description and close the window, I return to the page with the description updated. Thanks for getting the auto-refresh working.
When I delete a photo, I return to the home page. That’s fine as I cannot get an error message now.

Option IX-B10.1 is working fine and the photo sort order is now hidden for the end user.

I also like the display of buttons for “move photo”, “copy photo” and “delete photo” instead of the links.

Under Chromium 30 it doesn’t seem to work as good as under Firefox.
When I edit the description (without leaving the field and after having waited for the Remark field to indicate the description has been updated) and close the window, nothing happens. There is no auto-refresh. When I press the refresh button I see that only part of the changes in the description have been applied. Sometimes I miss the last character, sometimes the last two characters and once I missed the complete last word. (I had this once as well under Firefox)

Under Opera 12 there is also no auto-refresh but after pressing the refresh button I can see at least all changes without any character being dropped.

There is an issue that I have with all browsers and that is the following.
When I edit a photo, refresh the screen to show the changes, click on another photo on the photo browse bar and also click on “Edit” for this photo, then the popup window displays the previous photo I was editing. If I go via the “user photos” widget or via the home screen to select another photo, the “edit photo” window shows the correct photo.

I’ll continue testing the new version but should you be online you might already read this comment.

It might be I ran a recuperate EXIF (table VII-A7) but I didn’t know this did a reset of the EXIF settings. I thought it would only try to reread the EXIF information from the photos and update the database with this information.

    Thread Starter Dirk Claesen

    (@dirk-claesen)

Thanks again for all the time and effort.

I’m looking forward to test the next version.

When I select the “link is restricted” in table IX-B9.2 and I launch the “edit photo” window, then I get two extra fields: “link url” and “link title”. I don’t see immediately what the impact is of this setting on the “post sort order”.

Maybe a little bit off-topic, but would you recommend to set the “use Ajax” option in table IV-A1?

    Thread Starter Dirk Claesen

    (@dirk-claesen)

    Thanks for your feedback.
I totally respect your effort of using the latest techniques.

If you could add an explanatory line at the top of the “Edit photo” popup window to indicate changes are applied as soon as the cursor is moved into another field, that would be fine to me.
Or if you could force the update to take place when closing the window without leaving the field, that would be fine to me as well.

Personally, I only mind about the “insertion code” and “photo sort order #” fields. If these two could be hidden, that would be great.

Would it be possible to have the “edit photo” either as a separate page or as a (collapsable) box between the description and the EXIF box?
If it is a separate page the reload would happen automatically when returning to the initial page.
If it is an extra box between description and EXIF it might be possible to trigger a reload as well. But I guess a “submit” button would be needed here just like the “Send” button for the comments that are entered

    Thanks again for your efforts!
