The other admin here. Unfortunately the addition of the GEO Location made the software vulnerable to a exploit if used in conjunction with other popular plugins.

The latest update fixed and sanitised the vulnerability. A simple empty of the cache & clearing of the wp_options table (if affected) should remove that post.

Again i apologise. But this should fix it. We estimate only around 100 or so sites to be comprimised.

thank you for the links. The plugin already does most of the things described in the Handbook (load textdomain, etc). However, I don’t understand this part:

After WordPress 4.6 came out, translations now take translate.www.ads-software.com as priority and so plugins that are translated via translate.www.ads-software.com do not necessary require load_plugin_textdomain() anymore.

Does that mean that I should just remove the localization files from the package? What about those who are not using WP 4.6?

thank you for letting me know. Yes, the last update fixed this you need to clear your cache and update to the latest version. As I mentioned in the changelog, I asked a friend of mine to review the code and he gave me a full report. You can look at the wp_options table for leftovers, and if you don’t find anything then you should be okay.

We block GoogleBot & other well known crawlers by simply responding back instantly with a hardcoded-SET variable country code ‘US’. As all GoogleBot’s are in the USA, it saves us making a database query, thus providing a better service for the API users.

The webpage visited variable is there in case there is a script on the users site on 1 page that is producing excessive queries. So it blacklists that page first sa good will and then if the whole siteurl has more then 5 blocked webpages then the siteurl gets blocked in its entirety. This feature is to benefit the webmaster and give them the benefit of the doubt 5 times before blocking.

If you are worrying so much about your IP & pages you have visited i suggest you contact Google and let them know to block you from all there Google Analytic services. They actually store the data unlike us :).

The only data stored would be the siteurl as to stop websites abusing the api limits, but of course the site owner has knowledge and has activated this feature.

User agent is sent as we auto block all GoogleBot/Bing etc to stop un-necessary API calls.

Client ip is not stored at ALL and only used to check the GEO. Nor are there any logs or records of the ip address.

I will ask to get them terms.html updated, as they are generic terms tweaked for our use.

From now on, I am only going to answer to support requests pertaining bugs and new features. I will not fuel this bickering about whats / ifs / whens regarding the direction I want to take moving forward. Time will tell who was right.
