Yes, thank you.?? I was interested in the VH unit, which has been replaced by the custom units, but it is good to have another detail of Elementor clearer.
The whole thing started when I wanted to make a Back Button the usual way, in Elementor, and found that Elementor has removed that capability for possible Security risk.?? I was directed to a GitHub thread that has some workarounds, most too over my head, but one said the Happy Addon Wrapper Link feature could do the job.
But it only goes to the home page, not the previous page. Happy Addons support policy states that the free version support is to be found at WordPress Plugin forums, which has now just told me to go to Happy Addons support. Or isn’t this a WordPress plugin support forum? I can’t tell.
I re-read that GitHub forum thread a couple times and decided to try my hand at adding the code to the page header/footer, when I found there is no code editor available when editing with Elementor.?? I tried opening the page with just “Edit” and the code editor shows a blank slate.
Some of the people in that thread said they had added the code to their header/footer, but how??? How do you edit the code when you can’t even see it?

In reply to: www. and multisiteHere’s a clue, from my hosting service’s settings toggles:
Force WWW
WWW and non-WWW domain records are not pointing to the same host. Redirect not possible.
Thank you for the clue to the workaround.?? I am not sure this will work for my situation as I am using just a plain image for the link, not a button widget per se.?? But, assuming it would work the same way for both, I am in need of further guidance, as this is all unexplored territory for me; like some commentators on the above-provided github thread, I chose WordPress and Elementor because of the No-Coding-Needed language in their descriptions documents.
??? I have a vague idea of what “Set a class” means but not really sure how or where to do it.
??? I don’t know what header/footer to add the JS code into, but pretty sure it’s not the Header or Footer Template Part.
??? “Make sure your document was loaded” leaves me wondering what ‘document’ means, what ‘loaded’ means, and how to go about making sure a document is loaded.
Will you please explain these concepts and/or point me toward some resources that can help me understand??? Meanwhile I will try a different workaround.?? Is there a way to put a valid supported link to a page that then automatically implements the ‘Javascript:window.history.back();’, transparently to the site visitors?
Thank you and warm regards,
Thank you, aracelil. But, sadly, all my Page Settings Style Tab offers for background is Classic or Gradient, no Image.?? The workaround I have already applied will have to do.
Sincerely,
Thank you, aracelil.?? So, to be clear, you are saying that, while there is a box in the Edit Image Carousel settings for entering a link, the Image Carousel really does not support any linking, correct??? For security reasons, we can’t set up our Image Carousel to link, right?
I have no idea what you mean by “custom code is not supported via this channel”.?? What is the custom code??? The link??? What is the “this channel”??? The box in the Edit Image Carousel??? Please clarify bearing in mind that 90% of the technical terminology is very fuzzy to beginners like me, despite hours of looking up every buzzword I encounter along the way.
warm wishes
Yes, thank you. The carousel is at https://dixonsforum.com/index.php/about-me/
Not really. I had tried that page Featured Image thing before, and no image showed up on the page. Couldn’t find any Page Featured Image element to put on the page either. I found a workaround though. I got rid of the Site Background Image and placed a fixed image with z-index = -1 on the pages I want a background image on. It looks just the same.
I have no Facebook account, so I think the Global Facebook Community is beyond my reach. When I was trying to learn 3-D modeling a few years ago, GitHub only left me dazed and confused and I could never find anything I needed to know there, so I shy away from running loose in there.
Thank you for your kind suggestions. Any other ideas would be appreciated. Sincerely.

In reply to: Editing Template messes up footerYes, I edit the Footer Template Part, which is found under AdminPanel>Appearance>Editor>Patterns>Footer, setting content width to 100%.??It is the only Footer Pattern listed.?? Then I create a new Custom Template, setting its content width to 620px. Then I insert the footer, and it shows up squished.?? (It shows up squished on every post and page, not just the new Custom Template.)?? Then I back out of editing the new Custom Template, and examine the settings for the Footer Pattern, and it’s changed to 620px. Then I change it back to 100%, and my new Custom Template content width is also changed automatically to 100%. No matter what I do, the content widths of the Footer Pattern and the new Custom Template are always the same, as if the content width setting is global.?? But if it’s global, why doesn’t the Header get squished also?
The Theme is called “Fewer”.?? Thanks.

In reply to: link to category archivesThanks, threadi. I looked at the documentation for the GenerateBlocks plugin, and it appears like you still need to know the URL syntax for their image block, like in the WordPress core image block. I couldn’t find anything in the GitHub WordPress issues page either.
But it sure seems to me that, if the Categories block generates the correct URL, all we’d need to do is look up the code for the category block, and there it would be. It does not show up in the Code Editor though, so whoever wrote the Category Block could know the code, and a WordPress expert should know who that was, it seems to me, though I am living proof I don’t know much.

In reply to: www. and multisiteOk, thanks. So, is this thread resolved or not?

In reply to: www. and multisiteIt looks like I don’t have multisite according to the definitions you linked me to.?? Mine has subdomains, not subdirectories.?? It’s hard for me to grasp the subdirectory thing, because the address of the subdirectory looks exactly like the address of a page.?? But, what is really going on is, when I make either the Site Address or the WordPress Address contain the ?www., some of the images get misrepresented.?? Not the same images, though. It’s one group for the www. in the Site Address, and a different group for the www. in the WordPress Address, but for sure having the www. messes something up somewhere.
I’ve looked at some of the image URLs and many don’t seem to be editable, so I’ve concluded that I should have had the www. on both Addresses before uploading the images at all, and given up on having the https://www..?? I’ll sacrifice that little bit of SEO performance to keep the url formats consistent.?? Perhaps I’ll try again later, maybe, if I can figure out why it acts this way.?? Thanks.

In reply to: plugin compatibilityYes, the reviews are most helpful, and the threads.
Deleting the plugin’s files sounds so simple when you say it, but to a person who has never laid eyes on an FTP, not so much. How does one know which files to delete?
