Thanks – I’ve used this method and worked fine (after removing the existing plug-in first).

Daft question, but I normally just update via the WordPress Plug-in’s page.

Do I just extract the zip file and replace all files on my server with the new ones? – Or do I have to manually make any amendments before replacing existing files ?

I’m very concerned that after reading the many comments that it isn’t a simple upgrade to version 7. ie, Click update and that is it done. It sounds like it is likely to break things and then needs the legacy extensions manually adding ?

Just to confirm I am running 5.1.2. I upgraded straight from 5.0.7.

Also since this post the birthdays widget is only showing the first so many entries and not allowing me to view more.

Problem solved!

After further investigation I have just found out that Google Adsense introduced a feature called ‘Auto Ads’ a few months ago. The result of this is that they add additional Google Adsense banners at what seems like random positions on your website. In my case, they added additional banners in between the comments on the site.

I’ve had these same issues too. I have found out though if I have multiple scheduled updates it will always work if I wait a few minutes (usually around 4 or 5) between updating multiple pages.

If I schedule a few pages to be updated all in the space of a minute or so they will not all get published – not every time though.
