In reply to: Trackbacks Not Going Out?Oh, by the way, it’s Webhost4life.com
I’ve had trackbacks work on an earlier version of WP on this host, but there had to be some tweaks made that I got from some forums. Looks like it’s the same deal here.

In reply to: Trackbacks Not Going Out?I don’t know if they have other WP blogs. I have an MT and a dotText blog there, both of whom TB’s work
What could they have to do with it? Is there a setting I need to check maybe? I don’t have moderation on.

In reply to: Trackbacks Not Going Out?Incoming trackbacks from MT don’t work either. This is why I have never been able to justify moving to WP. The install all went fine. What have the WP peopel against trackbacks? It’s nver worked out of the box, where as NO problem with MT, with DotText/Community Server. So what do I have to tweak or hack to get it to work? Is there a fix? I was investigating WP again since I had successfully impotee al my MT blog posts and comments, and I was having trackback spam problems. I suppose that’s a good way to stop trackback spam, eh? Just don;t have trackbacks) Seriously , though, what can be done to get TB working, and then what spam protection is there for Comments and Trackbacks?

In reply to: Creating Multiple blogs on WPI am trying the multi-blog install, with one database, as described here:
https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Installing_Multiple_Blogs
I am unsure about 2 things:
where do I put the second blog config file(it says: Upload each wp-config.php file to its specific root/installation directory, and run the installation
my base WP install and default blog is in mysite.com/wp
do I make a /wp2 directory and put a single file , wp-config.php in that directory? Then how do I run install? I’m missing something. Is there a line in the install script that needs to change, otherwise, how does install know what’s going on?Upload each wp-config.php file to its specific root/installation directory, and run the installation

In reply to: Deleted cookies, now can’t log inBut it DOES happen to me with any windows browser (IE, NS, FF)
Sam edeal, Deleted cookies, can’t login. Constant redirect. Newly set password mailed to me also does not work. It IS being reset though, since a bad pw gives a RED error message
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Upgrade to 1.5, can’t login or change my passwordI also get the same behaviour from a brand new created registration. It keeps on redirecting ,
https://mydomain.org/wp/wp-login.php?redirect_to=%2Fwp%2Fwp-admin%2Fprofile.php

In reply to: Upgrade to 1.5, can’t login or change my passwordThis indicates to me that the password reset email is actually resetting the password, since that is the one that returns me to the redirect page, and wrong passwords give me the “Wrong Password” Bold Red message. It seems to be a problem in the code.

In reply to: Upgrade to 1.5, can’t login or change my passwordI get a bad password error in Red whn the password is WRONG. When I enter the correct password, I get the following URL in the URL bar:
https://mydomain.org/wp/wp-login.php?redirect_to=%2Fwp%2Fwp-admin%2Findex.php

In reply to: Upgrade to 1.5, can’t login or change my passwordNo cookies are set yet, since I deleted them and have not been able to login since
my blogaddress is https://myhost.com/mywpdir (that’s the siteurl, I don’t see anything called blogaddress either in the database options table or in the wp-config.php file)
I don’t know what the Word press setting is, since I see nothing by that name

In reply to: Change PasswordThat tutorial doesn’t work for me either

In reply to: Upgrade to 1.5, can’t login or change my passwordNo error, jst returns me to a blank login page. No cookie control. Deleting my cookies is what started all this, but with the reset password not working , I would have had this problem eventually anyway.

In reply to: Login problemsThe above link mentioning resetting the password in phpMyadmin is NOT work. Same problem remains. Can someone please help? I am totally disabled right now. Can I at least decode the hashed password? I used to have a tool that did that.
