  • I’m wondering if somehow the incrementals, are shutting the plugin down to overwrite, and just not re-activating it….

That would make more sense because for sure it’s weird,
plugin working fine, user signs up and plugin is off.

Just thought I’d mention it as a just in case…
because of the amount of sign ups/ins I’ve had over the last couple days

    Keep us posted…

    Morning.

Here’s a little tidbit of interest, and not sure why or how.

Over the last few days, I’ve been getting hit with sign ups from
    [email protected]
domain extension remains the same, just the number changes…

So, on several sites, I have Plugin installed, and it’s been working great, save a couple little issues, but other than that, no complaints.
So, after checking the “new user” above, the stop spammers plugin is deactivated, and have to activate it again.
All info still there, but somehow it’s been deactivated, and it was active the day before the above set of users started signing up.

Have you seen, or heard about any issues regarding some way to deactivate the plugin?

I’m only mentioning this, because in the old version I had .pl blocked and boy did it block….
the above .pl got by it, so I can only assume that somehow that one plugin was deactivated so they could sign up.

Same thing with all the other sites, (same users)

    Suggestions?
Possible to roll back to an earlier version until this gets sorted out?
I don’t mind testing the hell out of it on a couple sites…

Just reading your mail, I will attempt to see if wildcards will work,
shouldn’t be a problem, as for some reason today, I’ve been getting hit with user after user, ..251 for today all blocked, but they seem to keep bypassing this block for some reason.

    I’ll let you know
    thanks

Guess it pays to read the paragraph instead of skimming it….
Sorry bout that, the way it was already set up, led me to believe it was just the extensions….my bad
Appreciate the reply and setting me straight….
I love this plugin, it’s saved me a lot of grief
    Thanks again

    Great plugin…
Noticing the changes, and it seems in the updates, you’ve removed the top level domain block (domainnamehere.xxx)

Has this been replaced by the country block?
I’m asking only because, I’ve got multiples signing up using the same domain name, and not sure where to place that to stop them.

Takes a bit to get used to the new looking format, as well as finding where things are…

    Looking forward to seeing more.

    Thanks…

I went through all those in the dropdown box, editor/admin/author

    additional query.
if author is selected, then does the checkbox “have” to be checked in
An administrator must always approve the comment and will that comment box appear to someone not already logged in (like admin)
what happens if that’s left blank?

Remember this is a customized “classic” wordpress theme, the customization is more directed at the sidebars and size, but the page should have remained the same…there’s no blogroll, links, categories, login links/widgets present.
and if I don’t have a “login” link/button/area, and want that submission area to be on the home page, where exactly could they post a new thought?
because I don’t see any “submit comment” dialogue of any sort..

Still trying to wrap my head around “posts” and “pages”
I’ve viewed numerous video help for this, but seems I need
to somehow edit the “home” page, in order to include a “submit post”
box and email so that anyone can go to the URL, post a rant or a rave about whatever team the site happens to be about.

Really appreciate the help here, you guys are always on top of things.

If someone wants to email me direct, and have a look at what I’m talking about I’m more than happy to supply the URL, sometimes it’s easier to see what one means, instead of trying to sift through info.
