I do have minify on the site but this problem started before I installed the total cache plugin with minify. that css is in the main css file under the ‘mobile design’ at the bottom.

I also have not touched any of the mobile css.

the theme was originally ‘responsive’

I still have not found an answer for this if anyone has any suggestions.

Wherever you typed in “download unlimited dvd…etc” you have to delete the “1”. That is in your header tag.

probably in general settings under your title or tagline you need to add a – or | to space out your second issue.

SEO by Yoast is a good plugin.

Best way to edit themes is by creating a child-theme. That way you will still receive updates to the theme. You can do a search for child themes on this site to find out how to set that up.

You can activate jetpack and that will allow you to edit the css without having to alter the theme css file.

trial and error always works well too, and when you get stuck there are plenty of knowledgeable people on these forums that will try and help.

It looks aligned to me. I only see one widget in the sidebar so without having the others added, it’s hard to see what the problem is.

Yes, it was originally the Responsive theme.

Downloaded it through the WordPress dashboard.

I don’t believe it’s out of the scope of the forum. And if it was, nobody would bother helping out. Since all themes use CSS, it’s likely that people will have CSS related issues regarding their themes. Therefore this is the fastest place to get useful information. If it wasn’t I certainly wouldn’t be using WordPress and I’m sure many others as well.

Esmi – I have used firebug. I use it constantly but if I can’t figure something out, that’s when I turn to the forum. It’s my understanding that is the point of a forum.

I also found that style and it’s at the bottom of my theme CSS.

Part of this setting. So it shouldn’t be a plugin issue and odd that it just stopped working considering I have not modified any of the menu settings.

I tried deactivating plugins but it didn’t seem to fix it. Could you tell me how you know it’s generated by a plugin? It would help me to understand how to trouble shoot.

The above css I was editing in my themes main css. After updating the plugin I haven’t modified any of the nivoslider css.

However, today I just checked and it appears to be working properly. I think a problem I’m running into is terrible internet on the island I’m on. It’s making developing this site extremely difficult.

thanks a lot for your help. at the moment I think it’s safe to say that all issues are resolved.

solved it. not sure if it’s the best solution or not but I made the message area its own unordered list and assigned a class to it.
