You didn’t bother asking me when you changed the theme on my live web site and screwed up half our systems. You should take your own advice.

I think the issue is that your plugin searches ACF metadata only, so if field data is not stored through ACF, then your plugin ignores it. Which is probably how you intended the plugin to work.

While I use ACF on my site, the data is not stored using ACF functions, so it doesn’t create the necessary ACF related field data your plugin requires.

So, yes, my initial review was unfair and I have corrected it. Your plugin works EXACTLY how you have described it and I was trying to use it to do something it was not designed to do.

That said, it would be helpful if your plugin worked with ALL text metadata and not just ACF related fields.

Any resolution?

I have a custom field with an ID field (text) and when I search on the admin side, it doesn’t find anything.

I guess I wasn’t patient enough… It works fine.

I have a generic site set up, let me test it there.

I’ve been using BackupBuddy and I like it. It’s just way overpriced.

Found the problem!! An error in the “map_meta_cap” filter. I deleted it altogether and it’s working now. Thank goodness!

I am at a total loss…

I have deactivated all of my plugins and switched to the twenty-seventeen theme and it still doesn’t work on my dev site, but it does on the plain-vanilla WP site.

Okay, the plugin I posted works in a plain-vanilla install of WordPress.

So, no I have to figure out why it doesn’t work on my site.
