Thanks for following up, but no, I haven’t tried. I have also not had time to find out if Flickr and/or WordPress have solved their issues. As I said, ultimately, this is not a plugin I want to use and I do not want to host all my images on my blog website. I was looking for a quick solution to what I hoped was a temporary problem. If this plugin were to start working, then the other flickr plugin would also work, and I would no longer have the original problem.

Hey Michael, I am/was using the Flickr Gallery plugin. It’s my understanding from my ISP that the problem is with Flickr itself, and that other WordPress/Flickr plugins are failing as well. Their advice was to simply disable any plugin that accesses Flickr until the issue is resolved. I haven’t found any other specifics anywhere on the web, but have seen a couple others reporting it. If that’s the case, I’ll do what they suggest… wait and see if there are reports of the problem being fixed before going any further. Truth be told I’d rather continue using Flickr or other hosted image website, Picasa, Smugmug, etc.

    Thanks for the reply!

As far as I know I first lost the site on the evening of Saturday, the 23rd. What I’d like to know is how to find a real solution, instead of turning off plugins. I can find nothing anywhere else on the ‘net, not on WordPress, not on Flickr.

A bit more information. I aborted the process and this was the resulting message: “All done! 0 [flickr(set)](s) were successfully processed in 1208 seconds and there were 2 failure(s). To try importing the failed [flickr]s again, click here.”

    That’s 10 minutes per failure.

Seeing as how I started this thread a long time ago, I will point out a few things, now nine months later.

    A) I am not ungrateful for the plugin, nor for the updates that keep it current. I am quite thankful, but I was not considerate enough to state that at the beginning, and for that I apologize. This is an excellent plugin and I am VERY grateful. Thank you!

    B) I realize I “do not have to update”, just because there is an update. The flip side of this is that the red alert that says there are updates shows up on a frequent basis, but I don’t know what plugin has been updated. With one click updating, it’s just as much work to click and see what updates there are as it is to run the update. In other words, it’s not the one or two clicks, it’s the repetitive checking to see what exactly got changed, and whether it is important or not.

    C) I find it amusing that the author replied with, “The release frequency will probably going down anyway, because I think the plugin is finished now.” (hee hee)

    D) I can’t for the life of me figure out what my settings are supposed to be to get comments to sync back and forth between FB and WP. But I’ll search for those answers in other support threads.

Don’t ya just love it when people rate and review something by criticizing it for not doing something it was never intended to do?

“Gee.. I got this Ferrari and I’m sooooo disappointed. It couldn’t handle the 12″ of snow we got over the winter at all. And it’s totally worthless when it comes to hauling my boat! I mean… it doesn’t even have a trailer hitch!”

Oh… and never mind that the Ferrari was free. LOL

Very tactful reply. You described your plugin just fine.

my problem is a plugin… just gotta figure out which one

same problem here. the edit/add screen comes up in HTML. If I click on Visual everything goes to white text. Then I can’t click back to HTML.

It doesn’t matter if the visual editor is enabled.

but to answer your question, there should be a Visual Editor option above the color scheme.

That did the trick.. got it all cleaned out and then reinstalled/activated. I figured it was something I needed to do in the database buy my MySQL experience is minimal and I didn’t want to go mucking about in there!

    Thanks Rok!

FYI: I fixed my problem by registering a category specific feed with feedburner. Didn’t actually find an answer to the problem, but it works.

Your example is in the Codex, but unfortunately, it doesn’t work in the RSS Feed sidebar widgets. When I add ?cat=## to the link I get: “Error: could not find an RSS or ATOM feed at that URL.”

    Suggestions?
