bump! (grasping at straws!)

Update, I have uninstalled all the plugins and now rolled the software back to 2.8.5 Same error. Any ideas?

Well, I didn’t have errors until I started trouble shooting. The interesting thing about this whole thing is that I don’t upload my wordpress files one at a time. I upload the whole zip archive and then unzip them on the server. This in theory should prevent errors with uploading.

Now that I have done this a third time, everything is mysteriously working. Could it be my hosting provider has some new problem with unzipping files on the server? This would be a first!

Anyhow problem solved. I’m still not sure what went wrong.

I have removed all of my plugins.

I have uploaded everything clean. I can’t get into the admin interface any more and blog site is empty. I really don’t want to roll this back to 2.5 if I can help it. How can I provide information to help the diagnosis of this problem?

I have cleared the cache on FF 3.0 and tried IE. I already have a secret key that I had set up for 2.5

I have checked the permissions of the wp-admin directory… 755

I have moved removed all plugins.

I double checked wp-config.php and I didn’t overwrite it.

I have done tonnes and tonnes of upgrades over the years and have never had this kind of trouble.

I have a backup, but would rather figure out how to fix this.

If misery loves company, then maybe this will help! The EXACT same thing has happened to me. Blank page. Can’t access wp-admin. Nothing.

Simple Tags rocks. I was concerned about not having a tag management system, but this is as good as the old one… but built on the wordpress tagging core.

If there is an answer to this, you may just find it is easier just to move to another hosting service.

Yes, copy and pasting from word into the visual editor without the button creates all sorts of problems. Not nice and you spend a fair bit of time cleaning up the code.

Yes, I was consistently getting double posts any time I made a blog entry, with the exception of when I would schedule a blog to be published some time in the future. For some reason in the case of future scheduled blogs, only one entry was appearing in facebook like it should.

HOWEVER, I am happy to say that when I upgraded to 2.3, I also upgraded to the newest version of the plugin and everything is solved. I was also delighted to see some “teaser” text with each of the blog titles to kind of lead people into what the blog is about.

As many posts as there has been google site map generator, there should be a sticky!!!!!!!!!!!!!
