Hi Alch ..
Yes I was surprised at how many templates dont have the standard metatags that have been around ten plus years, as part of their package.
So in the mean time I dig get a plugin (before reading this) and it has resolved the issue. Thanks for replying. Would have been a real pain to get another template and customise it …
Cheers!
Hi again,
My wordpress site with Distinction theme is: https://petmemorialsforever.com.au
I still csnt find why the desctiption meta tag field is missing in the posts and dont want to pay for a premium forum from the makers to find out how to use the basic use of their free theme. Anyone work with Distinction theme and know the answers? Thanks~
ok.
I could be wrong, but I dont have comments on most of my sites, because i dont want to moderate, and I dont want to block spam or have a no follow rule on their websites to stop link power dilution.
I did think though that google likes to see sites changing, so if you have visitors leaving comments, you can go away forever, and google will consider that your site is active, and so not slide it down in the serps. Is this wrong?

In reply to: how to make a text and image article index pageIsn’t there some kind of standard inbuilt function that I can use common to all blogs? I am only using this theme because someone gave it to me and suggested that it would be better than the default that everyone else uses. In joomla, making them into article snippets is part of the standard package and not tied to the template, not so here?

In reply to: how to make a text and image article index pageoh, my site is https://doghappy.com.au/ and as you can see it is mostly the original template, still figuring out how to display the menu etc …
With the article page, it would be great to display at least 30 to 50 article snippets. J query displays are nice etc, but i want google to be able to read the text, not just have slick graphics on the page. Previously I did this kind of index in joomla so I figured it should be easy here?
