I have set up a fake wp_mail() function as suggested in https://www.itthinx.com/2021/09/06/wordpress-mail-debugging/ and I’ve got the right mail content in the debug log.

Any idea why wp_mail() may be failing?

Thanks a lot, but I am using the regular WP PHPmail. I am not using any email plugin.

Anyway, I am trying to debug WP mail to see if gets fired at all.

Hi, I am in the same situation, I have checked up my log:

and I do get an error:

0688.169 (2) An error occurred when sending a backup report email and/or backup file(s) via email (wp_mail_failed): Could not instantiate mail function.

Any idea why??

I am experiencing the same problem too for a while. I use version 2.47. Today I have gone into diagnostic mode and have activated plugins one by one, and it has failed when activating External Links, while editing and updating a post.

I am at last update level for everything, WP, plugins and themes. php 7.3.

Hi Cory,

Just for anyone reference, the problem was that wampserver does not support SSL in the base configuration.

After installing OpenSSL (following this Guide: How to Enable HTTPS / SSL on WAMP Server 3.2.0) and configuring Apache to support SSL the restore run smoothly and Adminn Login took me to WordPress Admin login screen.

Thanks a lot Cory, but I couldn’t fix it.

The only thing that surprised me was that PHP memory limit in Wamp64 was set to 128M, but I have set it to 768M and nothing changed.

I have run in Advanced Safe mode and have set all file permissions to 644 and 755 for directories with no success. Also have run this in Chrome and Firefox. Wamp server services have been restarted too.

wp-config.php looks good to me. Have not found any server or broser console errors and have followed several othe web pages hints with no success.

I am afraid the problem is the theme, Avada.

After investigating a bit more, I have seen this is a problem with the Chrome browser, as you can check at Chrome 77 has broken the WordPress editor.

My Chrome version is 77.0.3865.75 and this thread says it is fixed in 77.0.3865.90,and although I have no access to this version, may be for the Spanish language, I have just downloaded beta version, 78.0.3904.34, and it works correctly.

So, my apologies since the problem is not related to Post Grid.

I guess this does only work in the premium.

I am running the free version and I get a different panel, where I just can change CSS and CSS Hover.
