In reply to: Can’t start 2.3 — Ultimate Tag Warrior problem? To finish this “resolved” issue off, I’ll add a few comments:
1. As a quick fix, I simply renamed my Ultimate Warrior Tags folder by adding a “_hold” to the end of the folder name. My blog started working immediately.
2. I did not have to change my theme.
3. I will look at the Ultimate Warrior Tags fixed version first, and then may explore Simple Tags.
Again, thanks to everyone for your very quick help. All my other WP upgrades have been completely trouble-free, so when I suddenly lost my blog, it was a little disconcerting.

In reply to: Can’t start 2.3 — Ultimate Tag Warrior problem? Thanks very much to all of you for your help. The theme I use employs Ultimate Tag Warrior. Does this mean that I’ll need to switch to another theme?
Sorry to ask such simple questions, but it’s a simple mind at work here… at least where blogs are concerned.

In reply to: Spam? Read this.Strange thing: I originally set up a WordPress blog on my portfolio website so I could test it before installing one for my wife. That was months ago and because I don’t update the blog or the site, I never get comments. Fine.
But the other day, I decided I needed to revamp the website, so I replaced the homepage so that it is the only page available. It has no links to underlying pages (which are still on the web).
What’s strange is that I’ve now received 23 spam comments in four days. I assume these spam programs can find unlinked pages, but I’m surprised that I’m suddenly getting spam when nothing has changed on the blog.
Any thoughts? Worse case, I’ll remove the blog because it was just for testing.

In reply to: “index.php” not appearing automaticallyThank you for the quick reply… I was just coming to edit my post to say that all three sites are on the same webhost and they all worked for a long time until two of them stopped.
But I’ll get hold of the webhost, anyway. Good suggestion. Thanks again.

In reply to: Folder Structure on Web HostAh… I wondered why I’m not getting a folder structure. I’m using Powerdesk, which generally displays internal folders — don’t know what’s wrong. Guess I need to go get WinZip.
This is my first post… before I downloaded WordPress I checked out the support forum. It looked good then and thanks to you it couldn’t be better.
Thanks very much.
