So, let me see if I understand. Your index.php and .htaccess is in your root, but the rest of your wp installation is in news? Even though your index is in the same directory as your .htaccess, won’t wp be looing for your .htaccess in the wp install dir?

Oops, my paragraph tags didn’t show up. That sentence should have been “h2 tags work like p tags”.

The <h2></h2> tags work like tags. It automatically adds a line break after it. Perhaps there is a way to cancel this out with css, but I’m not sure.

Okay, I deleted the entire comments header and replaced it with one from the original css file for the theme, and now it’s okay again.
