In reply to: [Insights from Google PageSpeed] Unable to see reportsI’ve forced it to check the page scores again as suggested but I still see the same errors and nothing more. Looking on the chart on the Google Developers Console the request has been registered.
In the previous post you suggested adding a line of code for a more detailed report – I’ll try that.

In reply to: [Insights from Google PageSpeed] Unable to activate PageSpeed ServiceThanks for your patience, Matt. I’ll create another thread.

In reply to: [Insights from Google PageSpeed] Unable to activate PageSpeed ServiceI see this thread is marked ‘resolved’ – could you unmark it please as it is still an ongoing problem for me.
I’ve added my details to the post by Josh Fialkoff on the Google product forum, but he hasn’t had any replies. I also noted this issue that might help you narrow down the problem:
on the front page of the Developer’s Console the chart showing API requests does show activity for whenever I have requested a check: it seems that the checks are being made when I request them in the plugin, it’s just that the reports aren’t being generated – does that make the likely problem any clearer?
I’ll install the plugin on another WordPress site I have to see if the same problem occurs.

In reply to: [Insights from Google PageSpeed] Unable to activate PageSpeed ServiceHi, I’m getting the same problem after installation as referred to above: the plugin reports that “The “PageSpeed Insights API” service is not enabled. I’ll look more into it and get back to you. In the meantime I’ll keep an eye on this thread for any further developments.

In reply to: [404 Silent Salesman] Found the settings…I suppose it would have to be printed on a post-it note in the middle of my screen for me to see it…
Thanks for getting back to me!

In reply to: [Simple Subscribe] Setting and clearing default value in input boxWow, that was quick! Thank you for being on the ball!
I actually came back here straightaway to add that I’ve just seen that you’ve already answered that question for someone else in the thread ‘How do I change the value of the email text input with onblur/onfocus’. I’ve changed the code and it works, I am so pleased.
Thank you!

In reply to: [Section Widget] Does not show on posts (in my theme)Got it to work!
For anyone reading this, I edited sidebar.php to remove all reference to dynamic_sidebar(2) so that only one sidebar is loaded for all types of posts and pages – Section Widget then determines which individual posts to target.
Now, what next to sort out…

In reply to: [Section Widget] Does not show on posts (in my theme)Update and aaagh – I’ve found that my theme has two sidebars; a ‘home sidebar’ and a ‘single sidebar’.
For the widget to appear on category pages it goes in the home sidebar and for it to aiso appear on single posts it has to also be placed in the single sidebar. I’ll have to see if there’s a way of disabling the single sidebar so one widget does it all…

In reply to: [WordPress Button Plugin MaxButtons] Customisations not savedYes, it works now. Thanks for the very quick service.

In reply to: [WordPress Button Plugin MaxButtons] Customisations not savedIt seems from the reply from offerisor that there may be a deeper problem not just my own particular setup so I’ll wait to hear from the plugin author before uninstalling.

In reply to: [WordPress Button Plugin MaxButtons] Customisations not savedIt’s only tonight that I’ve noticed this, I installed the plugin a few weeks ago and created a few basic buttons without aiming for a ‘finished look’. I remember that at one point I went back and changed the corner radius and those changes saved successfully – that was probably a few days ago. Tonight I tried to change the URL, background colours and fonts and when I clicked Save the original settings returned.
I found tonight that if I copied the original button and then made the same sort of changes to the copy those also would not save.
In the days since it was working properly I’ve installed many plugins and upgraded from the previous WordPress version – it would be almost impossible to pinpoint what caused the problem From your reply it seems there isn’t an overall ‘activate-customisations’ button so the problem is likely with my setup – it might be simplest if I uninstall and then reinstall?

In reply to: [GD Star Rating] Editing text: '(2 votes cast)'For anyone reading this thread, the place to look is Settings > T2 Templates.
Presumably the developper would have been able to answer that question immediately but even the links here explaining the lack of support are dead…
I won’t click the ‘resolved’ button as it gives the impression that the developper is aware that these pages still exist.

In reply to: [GD Star Rating] Editing text: '(2 votes cast)'Also, it seems likely that most users will install a small number of stars, such as three or five, so when reporting the rating in figures there is no need to say ‘Rating: 2.5/3’ – it would be much clearer to write simply ‘Rating: 2.5’. Visitors will see instantly that there are three stars so there is no need to provide the maximum figure.
So this is another bit of text that I will be searching to customise.
I have installed GD Star Rating. On the surface it is a much more complex plugin, it offers many features that I don’t need but it worked without problem.
