Thanks for the quick response and for pinning down the problem.
When I untick Proxy Comment Posting I’m able to log in. Does that tell you anything?
I have most of the firewall options activated. I’ve only tested the options on the first two tabs – I’m guessing I don’t need to test the remaining tabs now.
I don’t have a spam problem anyway so I may not need this feature, but what are ‘other proxy requests’?
Actually no, I’ve never used the whitelist feature. For a time in the past I used the Blacklist feature but I’m not using it at the moment.
Hi, thanks for getting back to me. Yes, I’ve tried both of those things.
I wonder if the problem is due to the fact that I’ve recently moved the domain to a new registrar. I think this would have happened around the time the problem first appeared.
I also use Cloudflare but I’ve been using it since well before the problem showed up, so I doubt that could cause the problem.
Hi, thanks for letting me know about the update. I’ve tried it again but still no luck. When I’ve got time I’ll try deactivating other plugins to look for a conflict, but that might be some time away…

In reply to: [Disqus Comment System] Silence instead of supportHi, Ryan, it actually wasn’t hacked by an external person at all. Four or five days after I made a request direct to the Disqus website they contacted me to say that this was an experiment they themselves had released without telling anyone.
As for the idea of the WordPress plugin being a ‘voluntary’ operation, offering a free plugin is the business model used by Disqus. There isn’t a paid alternative. And the last time I looked it appeared that the devlopper that Disqus chose to work alongside had produced another 40 plugins on a voluntary basis, so one would expect some response from someone offering such a commitment.
I wouldn’t worry about the integrity of their product but their attitude to their consumers is surprising.
Hi, Matt, thanks for getting back to me. I have tried reinstalling but that didn’t work. I don’t really have time to investigate further at the moment so don’t spend any time thinking about it, ok?
By the way, I’ve since tried the native Google version and I couldn’t believe how superior your plugin is, they should just give up and hand it over to you…

In reply to: [WordPress Charts] Only one chart appears per pageNo wonder they don’t copy, I’ve been skipping out that part as I usually only have one chart per page… Thank you for getting it right straightaway.
Thanks for the input. I’ve disabled most of the plugins (not the security plugins) but I still haven’t traced the problem. But caching does make sense, I’ll look at that again.

In reply to: [JM Twitter Cards] Some tweets have images, others notWill do, thanks for getting back to me.
It seems today that most tweets do now have images. I can think of only one exception and that’s for a post which contains resources that Google can’t get hold of – there’s a video from video with a log showing an error. I guess I’ve got to sort out that error!
Thanks!

In reply to: [ImageInject] pixabay error: No content could be found.Hi, Trebormf, I still haven’t fixed my problem. I haven’t fully explored the possibility of JavaScript conflicts, so I can’t rule that out.
Where does your error message appear?

In reply to: [ImageInject] Missing cc iconHi, Damon, I don’t think CloudFlare could be the cause, I frequently pause it and I haven’t seen any changes. I’ve turned off Rocket Loader for the time being because of another probem. I suppose I’ve got several things to look at…

In reply to: [Preserved HTML Editor Markup] tags in my editor codeHi, codecandid, I’ve seen your other posts and decided to deactivate the plugin as you suggest.
For the record I haven’t been getting the code <!–mep-nl–> recently, possibly as I never use the visual editor.
However I don’t think it’s actually preserving anything at all, though that might just be my perception.
The plugin that I would like to see is one that preserves my HTML without allowing WordPress to make any changes whatsoever. I don’t see why WordPress doesn’t implement this as the default, along with a ‘Suggested code’ button for people who need to use it. Please make that plugin!

In reply to: [ImageInject] Missing cc iconThat’s fine, Thomas, I realise it’s a wierd one. I’ve tried uninstalling but a re-install made no difference. I’ll get round to turning off the other plugins, but that might not be for a while.
Thanks for your help,

In reply to: [ImageInject] Missing cc iconHi, again, I haven’t made any progress. I’ve switched off possible javascript conflicts but without any effect.
Very interestingly, I’ve noticed that posts I made before the problem started still show the cc icon. I don’t know what this means but I know it must mean something…
The problem will be at my end somewhere – I’ll take another look at caching.
