Hi, mbr, thanks for the input. I am using a cache plugin, also Cloudflare which caches pages. However when I switch these off and clear the caches the problem still remains.

In reply to: [Disqus Comment System] Silence instead of supportHow can you say that my support requests haven’t been ignored? Would you prefer me to re-phrase it as ‘gone unanswered’?
A support page from many people filled with ‘unanswered’ support requests is being ignored by the developer.
The status of ‘volunteer’ does not change these facts. Are you suggesting that people develop plugins out of altruism? Furthermore one of the ‘volunteers’ is listed as Disqus itself.
You suggest I take action to ‘avoid publicising it’ – why on earth should it not be made public?
It may well be discouraging to receive a negative review but I wholeheartedly stand by it. If the plugin authors wish to challenge any point I’ve made then they’re free to do so – I believe my review is a fair response to the level of support I’ve received.
‘Maybe they monitor reviews?’ wasn’t meant to suggest that I was trying to contact the developers through a review – frankly, I’ve given up on them. It was a comment on their priorities.
Thank you for the list of resources. I’ll do some reading to see how to proceed.
Not a word of support. You’d think that a virus that targets your product would be of interest?
Two malware scans have failed to identify the problem. I’ve unistalled the plugin and re-installed from back-ups that rolled me back to version 2.7.5. The virus was still there.

Advice to anyone reading this: I don’t know how the problem happened so I can’t tell anyone how to avoid it – my site was the most secure site I’ve ever had.
One anti-malware plugin failed to find the problem. I’ll try another but without any response from Disqus itself I’ll have to delete the plugin and use another commenting solution.
I believed my site security was very good. I have the plugin WP security installed and a huge proportion of security best practices in place. All my plugins are up-to-date. So how did malware via Disqus get onto my site?
And now a new user has appeared: “Model User Disqus Conversation Starter” – I’ve only looked at one page but the comment is identical to one that appeared earlier from the last user.

In reply to: [ImageInject] Missing cc iconHi, I’ve tried that change but it made no difference. However I suspect there may be some javascript conflicts so I’ll check over the next few days and get back to you.
Thanks,

In reply to: [ImageInject] pixabay error: No content could be found.Hi, Pixabay hasn’t been working lately for me either. It did originally, so not sure what’s changed. Going to that URL just gives me the options page, should I be seeing other results?
I haven’t had a chance to disable the other plugins yet.
I’ll do a separate post as I have another issue.

In reply to: [Better WordPress Minify] Nothing happens? Thanks for getting back to me. I was using a cache plugin but I had it switched off so that shouldn’t have caused a problem.
For the time being I’m now using the ‘non-better’ WordPress Minify. Your plugin does sound like an improvement however and I’ll probably give it another try some time in the future.
Well, that was impressive! Spot on, thank you.

In reply to: [Simple Share Buttons Adder] Share buttons not showing up, also html errorFor anyone looking at this in future, I corrected the missing space error by typing a space in the ‘rel’ link in ssba.php.
‘ rel=”nofollow”‘
The other sharing services used a space elsewhere in the format ‘%20’ , but this caused an error for me.
So the last remaining validation error is the mailto issue. I’ll make a new post as this one has not received any input from the developer.

In reply to: Stylesheet and script insertion fails HTML5 validationI’ve just visited https://www.onlinewebcheck.com:
Their explanation is:
This “link” element is not in the “head” section (which it must be in if the “itemprop” attribute is not used). Please check for missing or misplaced “head” elements or move this “link” element into the “head” section. The attributes will not be checked until this is corrected.

In reply to: Stylesheet and script insertion fails HTML5 validationYes, this is the correct line, I’ve done a search within the source code and this is what comes up.
This is the actual code quoted in the error:
…?00dbd1" type='text/css' media='all' /><link rel='stylesheet' id='easyazon-pro…
My original post included the first link in the pair, ie. in front of where the validator said the problem lay. The second link looks equally correct:
<link rel='stylesheet' id='easyazon-pro-frontend-css' href="https://crosswebideas.com/wp-content/plugins/easyazon-pro-3.0.9/resources/frontend/easyazon-pro.css?00dbd1" type='text/css' media='all' />
I’ll try running the page through a different validator to see if there’s a clearer idea of what’s wrong.

In reply to: [Preserved HTML Editor Markup] tags in my editor codeI’ve been getting masses of this code appearing too. I’ve just been copying in text, no code. I delete these comments <!–mep-nl-> but sometimes they reappear all over the place, sometimes not… I haven’t worked out the reason why.
Any suggestions?

In reply to: [Simple Share Buttons Adder] Share buttons not showing up, also html errorSorry, yet another post…
There are another three HTML5 validation errors for ‘No space between attributes’ for the links to Twitter, Linkedin and Google. The missing space is in the section:
target="_blank"rel="nofollow"
