I was able to get this to work, as much as it was working.

After logging in with the AskApache prompt, I enter my info to the wp-login.php and I get directed to https://www.mysite.com/wp-admin/ which is an Error 404 – Not Found.

Then I have to manually enter https://www.mysite.com/wp-admin/index.php to get started.

Can’t we just have you directed to the dashboard after logging in twice?

I’d appreciate any notes for this. It’s really more of an inconvience at the moment but it could turn out to be even more of a headache for other users in my site.

Once you activate the plugin, you’ll have to go to “Manage” and you’ll see in the secondary menu, “Automatic Upgrade” and you can take it from there. You’ll have 2 options: (1) manually go through each step and (2) automated process. I hope that helped you.

Ugh, still having issues. I was able to go back to my previous install and started the wpau process again and then I end up on the plain page “Database Upgrade Required

Your WordPress database is out-of-date, and must be upgraded before you can continue.

The upgrade process may take a while, so please be patient.
Upgrade WordPress”

So um.. that’s where I’m stuck. I’ll keep doing this but if anybody has any idea where to go from here, just give me a nudge. Please and thank you.

I previously had wordpress-2.3.3. installed and with same plugin wordpress-automatic-upgrade, I went ahead and went through all the steps to upgrade.

At the point where it asked me to backup my database, I was pretty much stuck at the “Database update is required”, hours later it was still stuck at that screen. I didn’t even make it to the “Activate plugins…”

Right now I’m doing a clean upload of the new 2.5 version. Is anybody else having any issues with upgrading with this plugin?

Installed version 3.2, activated, green. Clicked on “Options configuration panel” or “Options > AA PassPro” and there is nothing but a blank page.

Any resolution would be greatly appreciated. I will deactivate for now.

The easiest solution I found was just to make an index.html and put it in the same directory as the WP installation. It automatically serves index.html before index.php.

In an earlier site I was working it this meant that clicking on “home” or the logo sent you to the index.html. And when you were writing a post/page, the “View>>” link would also come out wrong.

But now that I’m working on a new site, it doesn’t seem to be a problem. So that’s how I solved my problem.

I tried this solution again and it seems to be working. I’ve been having this issue work and not work at different times. It’s quite frustrating because other people rely on coming back to password protected pages and then not being able to access them. Thank you once again.

I’m looking for something similar, but that flash intro page can’t be the front/home page.

I’d prefer to not move the wordpress into a subdirectory.

So really, I would like to maintain the index.php in the root folder. Has anyone found a solution?

Sorry. This isn’t working for me at all. I enter my password and it just refreshes with the same message and password field.

I’ve cleared my cookies and whatnot, even tried this over and over in the past week to no avail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I’m going to try sarmadhassan’s solution but I just wanted to say that I have been having issues and hard time finding a fix to this problem. I’ll post again to let you know if this helped. BRB.

I keep trying to vote but I get prompted with “Your last request is still being processed…”

I can’t vote and I can’t view results at all. Where do I even begin to make this work? I might have to turn it off for now because I don’t want users to come vote and get turned off that it doesn’t even work. ??
