On this note, I just discovered the annoyance of automatic formatting. Searching the forums I found can’t-paste-a-link-issue and was frankly amazed at the arrogant brush-off the OP received from the support person.

As you already know blocks automatically converts all these links to embeds which is super annoying. I just want my god damn links in plain text, or at least as “HREF” links.

That’s an angry statement. Here’s the help the OP gets:

It’s trying to assist, basically.

Most people prefer embeds.

That one isn’t going to be fixed.

If you want to post a link, then generally the text won’t match the link itself.

It seems that WordPress are intent on building an amazing tool which succeeds on every front except meeting the actual needs of real users.

@interfacelab Ok, thanks. Using Imgix is my way of avoiding the slow workflow (and high cost) of Photoshop. I’ll look around for a programmatic solution.

Hi,

I’m also interested in this feature. I have many historical posts, and many images per post. The images are named by my camera and it would be difficult to find them in S3 without some kind of structure.
