i have the same problem, which plugin was the issue?

Hello havelfil, sorry was not able to resolve this issue. After upgrading WP, removing all malware, backing up and restoring website, and following all suggested tips, issue remains. Have decided that because i am using a theme that is now archived (no support) and using a prior version of WP, there is code that disallows the customizer function, I going to upgrade the website with a new supportable theme. Then I will know if this issue is still a problem.

Thank you for your responses. I will try Samuels’s way first, seems easier for me. I am not comfortable doing manual update but will give it try, Bemdesign. BTW, Samuel, I did try on all 4 of my browsers and they all acted the same: failure. I removed Firefox because that also resulted in a malware message that was bogus and got cleared/removed by my hosting provider. Not too keen now with Firefox since the other three (Edge, IE and Chrome) didn’t react the same way.
I’ll let you know the results. Again Thanx for your suggestions!

did you ever get the answer/fix? I would like to have the same fix to get the entry fields to align
